i only get antsy if the characters, fellow characters, creators or fans act like an action that would be considered negative wasn't bad because it was by the main character/a good guy*

That's a trope called Protagonist Centered Morality.

That trope page is also full of editors who are under the impression that if a main character does something or expresses an opinion motivated by personal bias, it's actually intended to be a commandment of sacred moral truth.

No, I mean, you can tell what the editors think by the entries in the trope pages and how they're worded, even if you don't know WHO the editors are.
