Not OP.

I loved Starscream and the Minicons, particularly the Saber minicons. There were times he looked like a mother duck with a gaggle of ducklings, what with the healing energy baths and the defending them against Megatron and the mutual loyalty and all ...

Which made moving to the main continuity and meeting that Starscream a little weird, really. Honourable (if slightly crazy and a touch megalomaniacal) warrior prone to mother-henning smaller beings --> crazy-ass, oddly compelling whiny backstabbing coward. Bduh? But okay, we can go with that ...

I know, haha! Sometimes it seems like Armada!Scream is G1 fanon!Scream with yellow eyes.

I think you might actually be onto something there. G1 was close to thirty years ago, Armada was around the same time or after Beast Wars, right? Maybe people are unconsciously influenced/getting confused.

It could be, but I don't think enough people really watched Armada for it to have such an influence. I figured the writers just liked fanon!Scream, so they made their Starscream more like him.
