Pokemon X and Y.

Of course I need a 3DS...

I really want one or the other but I cannot justify the expenditure on a 3DS. Hell, I haven't even been able to justify Black 2. (Though I'm going to trade in some stuff at Gamestop soon and try to get that.)

But I'm really hoping I can somehow afford one by October. Usually I don't mind so much if I don't have a game right away but it was so much fun playing Black along with everyone else (in the U.S. at least) and trading Pokemon with them.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Gears of War: Judgment, Bioshock Infinite, and The Last of Us.

oh wow, I TOTALLY forgot about Gears of War Judgement! I'm *really* excited for Overrun mode, it sounds amazing.

No standalone games but I am so fucking psyched for the Skyrim DLCs to make it to the PS3. (Supposedly all three are going to drop this month, but I'm skeptical.)

I'm tempted to get Ni no Kuni since I love my JRPGs, but the voice acting in the dub is so cringeworthy I couldn't sit through more than an hour of a Let's Play. :/

In the 'stuff that hasn't been released' category: Bioshock Infinite and DoDonPachi Saidaioujou, if the worldwide release goes as planned. I'm not completely sold on Lightning Returns, but I'll probably get it. I think. Okay, I don't know. The more I hear about it the less enthusiastic I become.

As for stuff that's out, but I haven't gotten around to yet--I still haven't played a Pokemon Gen V game and I should...probably do that. The Last Story and Xenoblade look pretty cool, too, but my interest in jRPGs isn't what it used to be, so I've held off on picking them up.

Ugh I wish I had more monayyy for games

I really want to play Rune Factory 4, the new SMT and Fire Emblem games for the 3DS but I don't have one. I just bought a DSi about a year and a half ago so I don't feel justified in getting another handheld system so soon. Also, I haven't even played my DSi in like, six months, and I have a huge backlog of games for it (I know the 3DS plays other DS games, but still)

Far Cry 3. I torrented it to see if it was any good and now I need to buy it.

Well, there's quite a few games I would like...but they're all console exclusive for consoles I don't own lol. /only has a DS and wii

Am I just being stingy when it comes to consoles? I've got friends who own nearly all the consoles but only have a game or two for each and it feels weird to me to pay so much money for a medium that you only play a few games on. Maybe if I had a list of 5 or 10 games, but a couple?

I think it's perfectly reasonable to not pay $100-$400 on a console if you don't want to, no matter how many games for that console you're interested in. And if it's only for one or two games, that's very understandable imo. I don't see how that makes you stingy.

If those people want to spend their money on consoles, I also think that's perfectly fine. I bought my PS3 knowing I probably wouldn't use it for much more than MGS and FF games, plus to watch movies on. (I was mostly right, but I don't regret the purchase.)

I tend to measure the value of consoles based on how many hours of gaming I get out of them, and then I compare that to movie ticket prices. So, for example, if I pay $400 for a console and a game, and played the game for a hundred hours, that's much cheaper per hour than a movie ticket or a meal out.

Consoles and games ARE expensive, but they're way cheaper overall than most other forms of entertainment, especially if you don't care about new releases.

Admittedly, most of my consoles and handhelds have been gifts. I work within the games journalism industry, and I've gotten many of mine as end of the year/Christmas bonuses, so I'm super lucky. Otherwise? It would take me ages to buy a console and I'd have to be interested in at least 5-10 games for it.

Plus I kind of need them to do my job. ;) No debugs though, they're impossible to get.

DmC: Devil May Cry. Though not until Steam is selling it for under twenty bucks, maybe less. Dragon Age II, maybe.

-Animal Crossing. JUST GIVE US THE RELEASE DATE ALREADY.
-Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. Was planning on waiting for 4, but it was delayed and this looks fun.
-Fire Emblem whatever the newest one was. Partly because of HYPE, hoping it lives up to it.

All handhelds since I'm living in student flats without a TV...

Fire Emblem Awakening is totally worth it. Whether you've played the series on not before, it's a beautiful game.

Castle Panic, Ticket to Ride, Zombie Dice, and Gloom.

Considering my mother and brother got into an argument about what was more scenic, explosions or earthquakes during Apples to Apples. Gloom should be entertaining.

Lego Marvel... I've been waiting forever! But it seems like the lego games are better on consoles than handhelds and I just use handheld systems, so that's disappointing...

Fire Emblem: Awakening almost made my list, but I have it now because Canada is awesome.

Otherwise, I've got Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Bioshock Infinite, Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers, God of War: Ascension aaaand eventually Cyberpunk 2077 to look forward to. And hopefully, Shin Megami Tensei IV and SMT x Fire Emblem too. :D

Assassin's Creed I and II, when I have the money. All three Thief games are shipping from Amazon and I can't wait until they get here!

Pokemon X/Y. I picked up a 3DS for Fire Emblem: Awakening, so I don't have to worry about that part.

I've considered the Tales of entry for the 3DS too, but I'll hold off on that one for a while I think.
