How would you imagine you'd feel if you were a male, and circumcised as a baby without consent?
Prob impossible, but try to keep this mostly about how you imagine you'd feel about it as an adult, and not about whether you support or not.

There is such a thing as foreskin restoration, if you feel that you need that extra skin back.

Not really.

The results are generally very poor, and even under ideal conditions it's a base mimicry of what they're trying to achieve.

Reconstructing skin is a cosmetic thing. They can't regenerate the nerve endings.

Dunno, relieve it was done when I was young and couldn't remember. Mildly annoyed I'd been forced to take part of something religious when I, as an adult, are not religious.

But not hugely caring. It's not like men are discriminated on because of their penis.

My SO wasn't circumcised and has always been angry with his parents about it. He's started the process of getting it done a couple times (getting a referral from his GP for a specialist, having the first meeting with the specialist, etc) but has never been able to bring himself to go through with it. The risks to an adult are much higher and he is too scared to do it.

I honestly can't imagine how I'd feel. I do know that if we ever have a son that we're having him circumcised. He can go through the restoration if he wants when he is older because it is much safer than adult circumcision. By that time actual skin transplants will probably be the norm and it will be a true foreskin, anyway.

I'm Jewish and so definitely would have been circumcised had I been male. I genuinely don't think I would mind, as for me it would be part of my heritage and culture. As a woman, I've participated in those aspects of same that I've been able to.

This is impossible for me to answer with any degree of accuracy. You'll have to settle for a very wild guess.

I ... know that pretty much any surgery that was done to me for non-medical reasons, I'd resent, and the more invasive and personal the more I'd probably resent it. I'm not religious at all, so having a part of my body (even if it were minor) removed for religious reasons would probably feel like a gross violation because I would never consent to that, and I'd still have to deal with the consequences of its having been done. And from what I've read, the foreskin has tons of nerve endings and not having it diminishes one's capacity for sexual pleasure, so I don't imagine I'd be at all okay with that, either. And really, if I wouldn't let a doctor handle and cut my daughter's external genitalia, it seems just as reprehensible to let that be done to a boy. I'd probably consider it a betrayal if my parents let that be done to me. I mean - if I was up to my eyeballs in a culture that was completely convinced that circumcision was synonymous with real masculinity, and a guy who wasn't had to deal with a lot of discrimination and social crap, I might not consider it abuse. But I think that a procedure grown men very rarely volunteer for shouldn't be inflicted on infants, and I hope I'd still think that as a man.

I imagine that uncircumcised males would have more meaningful answers to this questions, since they know what it's like to have a foreskin and I don't...
Anyway- as long as it was done properly I don't think I'd mind.
FTR I'm not exactly pro-circumcision, but I had a circumcised ex who was.

I kind of resent having been baptized as an infant, and that didn't involve permanent body modification. I imagine that I wouldn't be thrilled.

I think I would've been pretty miffed about it because I've always found docking pretty hot, and you can't do that without a foreskin :|a

SA - I should also mention that I'm even annoyed that my parents got my ears pierced when I was a baby. I don't appreciate that the choice was taken away from me. Assuming I grew up to have the same attitudes as a cis male as I do now, this would fall under the same category.

Well both of my brothers were and I've spoken to them about it. They're both pretty pleased with it (they think it looks better, and it's easier to clean) so I imagine I'd feel the same way.

Wonder and worry about what it would be like if I was uncircumcised.

I already have feelings along those lines for an appearance-normalizing surgery I had during my teens that I did more or less consent to: It has side effects that I have to live with on a daily basis and lately I keep thinking about the effects that were predicted for if I didn't have the surgery, and wondering if I actually made the right decision.

I think the lack of consent might make me kind of resentful. Informed consent is super-important to me because of my own medical history (which I assume would be unchanged in a male me), and even though a foreskin is comparatively minor compared to the other stuff I've been through, my emotions about the other things would likely carry over.

I'd probably be annoyed. I don't like people doing things to my body without my permission or choice, and I also find uncircumcised a lot more attractive.

My best(male)friend has a lot of issues mixed up with the fact that he was circumcised. He's looked into surgery to fix it and everything.

I might be wrong but circumcision is pretty rare in Europe unless it's for religious purposes.

Seeing as I'm not Jewish, and lots of the boys I would have been friends with would have been uncircumcised, I would have probably felt self-conscious about it and a little annoyed that it would have been decided without me.(but also grateful cos of hygiene etc)
