This post is very interesting to me. I've wondered things like that before.

Person A is given a dollar, and spends it on a chocolate bar, because eating chocolate makes that person happy.

Person B is given a dollar, and banks it, because thinking about what they might do with that dollar on a rainy day makes that person happy.

Person C is given a dollar, and donates it to charity, because thinking about who that might help makes that person happy.

I'm not saying how much good you do isn't a measure of the kind of person you are, but if you do it with a glow in your heart, are you a 'better' person? A 'better' altruist? Or just wired differently?
