Maybe Dean and Gabriel from Supernatural? Dean even admits the similarities. They're both rather hedonistic and have the same kind of sense of duty to their families. Then there are the little things, like how they obviously have the same sense of humor, they're both averse to talking about their feelings (esp concerning their families), etc. The difference is that Dean fulfills that duty, but Gabriel doesn't out of cowardice - at least, until Dean persuades him to. And while Dean may laugh at such jokes, he wouldn't actually kill people, whether for fun or for Gabriel's twisted sense of justice. But then, Dean does kill dangerous monsters, so that might actually be another similarity.

This is why I loved Hammer of the Gods so much, hilarious portrayals of pantheons aside.

Yes, exactly! I'm not as hung up on the fact that Gabriel never had the chance to join Team Free Will as other people, but sometimes I wish it had happened because his interaction with Dean would have been gold. Their relationship would have been really interesting to watch too, particularly since Dean had shown some liking to him in Tall Tales, and Gabriel shown Dean preference in Changing Channels.

And Destiel shippers would be slightly less obnoxious since Debriel shippers would inevitably pop up too, and that'd just be icing on the cake.
