Welcome to the club, OP. I fell in love with them in 2010, when I found reruns on TV (before I saw the movie reboot). It's so un-PC by today's standards, which makes it slightly surreal at points, but it's still really entertaining.

Who's your favorite, if I may ask?

(Anonymous) 2013-02-10 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
woah, are you me anon? Exact same introduction for me, down to the date.

I'm not OP, but Murdock is my fave

(Anonymous) 2013-02-10 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
OP feels obligated to like Murdoch, since her favorite character was compared to him, but must admit that Mr. T's mechanical genuis has stolen her heart. Science is sexy, yo.

Faceman! Mostly because i was deeply in luff with Dirk Benedict.
*swoon*

The Face! Yes. I had a little girl crush on him.

But Mr. T. was probably my favorite. Loved his one liners.

Heee! He was fun, but i always had this psychosomatic 'my neck is hot and itchy!!' watching him in all his chains.

Yes! Faceman!

Young Dirk Benedict >>>> What's-his-face in the movie.

Ha ha ha! I grew up watching the A-Team. It was awesome. XD

The hilarious part, by today's standards, is that it considered itself a family show. See, they had all these guns going off everywhere, but no one ever, I mean EVER, got hit. Except B.A. one time in the foot, and it was HUUUGE. And whenever a car was launched into the air (about three times per episode, lol) they were always very careful to show the bad guys in it crawling away unharmed. So, see? it's not actually really "violent" because there are absolutely no consequences whatsoever!! No one gets hurt! Perfect family fare. Or something. XD

Me and my brother loved it. Dad watched a few episodes with us and probably would have really enjoyed it, except then he saw B.A. welding with a cutting torch. Or cutting with a welding torch, one or the other. We certainly didn't care (or notice) but Dad was a mechanic and it pretty much killed his suspension of disbelief entirely. XD Because three was nothing else ever goofy about that show. XD

Upon interrogating her mothet, the OP learned that the show was forbidden when she was a child precisely because it was so violent.
Thank you for explaining why everyone is fine after the car crashes. That detail was a bit confusing.

Aw. LJ-Fandom for the show was active up until a couple of years ago. So at least you'll find a couple of fanfics and discussion posts that aren't 10 years and older?

you could check http://ateamfans.livejournal.com/ and ateamrec.livejournal.com/

(Anonymous) 2013-02-11 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
OP thanks you for the links!

(Anonymous) 2013-02-10 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a good-sized fandom, secret!maker, and ateam-prompts was extremely active for a very long period of time. It has slowed down now, as far as I'm aware, but the 2200+ comments on the five months old prompt post 10 still isn't bad. Nothing wrong with getting into it in 2013!

I fell in love with the show after the 2010 movie introduced me to it, and plenty of others are in the same boat:)

The OP was looking at the wrong kinkmeme, and thanks you for pointing her to the right one!

Old school fan - still a fan!

Welcome to the club ::g::

(Anonymous) 2013-02-10 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
There's nothing wrong with that. The A-Team was awesome. The A-Team is still awesome.

Also, in any fandom I get into, I pretty much always want an A-Team fusion. No matter what.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-10 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I grew up with them, but it's never too late to love the A-Team! The plots are perfunctionary, the physics are implausible-to-impossible, the attitudes are occasionally awful, but the characters are golden and for banter and teamwork and mindless fun, there really is nothing better.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-10 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I love the crap out of this goofy-doesn't-even-try-to-pretend-to-make-sense TV show. Definitely one of my top go to TV shows if I need cheering up. :)

The A-team were awesome. They could make a tank out of two 55 galon drums and some duct take in 1 hour while being shot at with machine guns. It doesn't get cooler than that.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-11 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
This was my Dad's favorite series when I was in high school/college; we had great fun watching it together.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-11 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
I love The A-Team! It's one of my favorite shows ever. It's so silly. It's like a live action cartoon.

Murdock's my favorite. Face is hot but alternated between being the best part of an episode and being the most obnoxious part of an episode. He was just a tad whiny, is what I'm saying. I loved his and Murdock's friendship though. In the last two seasons, they practically carried the whole show. BA was hilarious. His faces and his delivery. I love him. Hannibal, I go back and forth on too. Overall he's a cool character. But, sometimes he's too smug for me.

I also love Amy. She was fantastic. I didn't mind Tawnia either. Frankie could GTFO though! He sucked.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-11 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
I'm in love with George Peppard. I miss him, but I still love him even 20 years after he died.

Murdock poll!

(Anonymous) 2013-02-11 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
Is he crazy, or crazy like a fox?

I mean, it was unsubtle 80s cartoony tv, so allowances must br made, but I always thought he was mostly exaggerating so as to give the team someone who wasn't on the lam as a resource. Also that dude was crazy smart (how many languages did hespeak again?) I do like that it's ambiguous enough that authors can pick which interpretation they prefer.

Face and Murdock's cons were my favourite parts.

Re: Murdock poll!

(Anonymous) 2013-02-11 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
I think he does have some problems (I think he may have been legit when he was first put into the hospital) but he's mostly fine and playing it up. I mean, any time one of the other three need his help, he immediately drops the crazy act and gets serious.

Re: Murdock poll!

(Anonymous) 2013-02-11 01:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm on the "crazy like a fox" side. Like the previous anon said, he probably has a few issues, but he most likely plays crazy for the free room and board at the V.A. and just to mess with people. He's highly intelligent and a total troll, but he loves it, and that's why I love him.

Face and Murdock's cons were my favourite parts.

You mean when Face would get him out of the hospital? Yes, those were awesome.
