I...did you want a cookie?

Congratulations, you use fictional genitalia as a litmus test for a character's likablity.

Excuse you. I did not say this was only about cis-female characters.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-11 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, so what about trans characters then? Do you like transmen before they announce their preferred gender? Do you stop liking them once they go from publicly identifying as female to male? And vice versa. Would you suddenly like a character you previously hated if they revealed themselves to be a transwoman?

Lol you're getting really angry about things that were never actually said.

Where in the secret does it say "I hate male characters"? Or "I like all female characters because they're female?" Those are some pretty questionable assumptions you're jumping to.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-11 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
If they like all characters of X group, then it is logically to infer that they like them because attribute X, especially if the characters in question are all pretty diverse except said attribute.

Which, you know, in this case is gender.

I'm just going to assume the OP went with some really stupid over the top hyperbole, cause the other answer is pretty side-eye worthy. What, you like all female characters? Even the badly written ones? Even the ones written as insulting, sexist stereotypes?

Oh, terribly sorry.

You've use gender as a litmus test for likablity.

That is so much less creepy.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-11 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know. They've stated gender is a sufficient condition for them to like a character, not that it is a necessary condition. Gender is an override, but presumably there are other standards which are applied to determine whether male characters are liked. Oh god so much passive voice.
