To be honest, Japanese dubs can be all right, but they used basically the same voices over and over again. Especially for female characters. You either have the high pitched female who will speak as childishly and femininely as possible and ends her sentences in 'wa', or the husky female who is probably a villain. There's not much in between.

No, you just haven't seen a lot of anime.
