River/Jayne from Firefly. It's the only ship in any of my fandoms I've ever truly hated with a passion - mostly because no matter how much fans of it talk about how she's a weapon and he loves weapons and it's so gloriously dark and twisted, I never get why she would ever want anything to do with a man who's not only far, far below her level intellectually, but actively tried to betray/kill her on several occasions.

Oh god back in the day I used to get people who would argue with me furiously for not liking that ship.

One the mistakes I made was bringing up disliking the age difference, and I'm sorry but River is supposed to be a TEENAGER when she boards the Serenity. It's just so not right in my book between that and the reasons you listed.

The age difference doesn't bother me at all - I'm perfectly happy shipping River with pretty much anyone else tbh - but that, and her fragile mental state, are totally understandable reasons for not wanting to ship her with anyone at all, much less the guy who's least likely to be mindful of those issues.

I'm kind of glad I didn't get into the fandom until late, really. I don't know if I could have taken it when things were actually active!

The age difference wouldn't bother me that much except shes specifically underage maybe not by much but still enough that in addition to her mental condition I have trouble shipping her with anyone on Serenity. And like you said there are additional reasons to not really want her with Jayne specifically.
