Popular ships that you hate

What are the popular or canon ships in your fandom that you hate? Is it because you just can't understand why anyone would ship it, let alone the majority of a fandom? Are the shippers annoying? Or maybe you just hate it because one of the characters is stupid. That's okay too.

For me, I'd have to say Sam/Gabriel, but mostly bc of the shippers. Still, not only does it baffle me why anyone would think Sam might ever forgive the fact that Gabriel killed his brother 100+ times for no reason, some of the folks at tumblr can be quite rude to people who ship other things involving Sam or Gabriel. And then there were the people getting their panties in a twist because they don't want to share their tag with fans of the book Sabriel. Talk about self-entitlement.

So what are yours, f!s?

I tend to like the popular ships less because the fanworks get repetitive. So right now I guess it's John/Karkat, Jake/Dirk, and Dave/John but I feel the same way about whatever is popular in whatever fandom I'm in.

Dean/Castiel

still can't get over being creeped out by the idea of Dean being with Cas when he's wearing Jimmy Novak as a skin suit. I don't begrudge anyone for shipping it or anything but whenever I come across destiel it's like "nope, see ya".

honestly though, I don't ship much of anything in that show

I've read some good fics where Jimmy's consent is an issue, but it's never resolved very well. And I can't help think about how less-than-pleased Jimmy might be about getting physical with Dean.

SwanQueen. Great chemistry, and they look hot together... but no. Same goes for any Rumple pairings, which are popular as a whole it seems.

Ahiru/Fakir in Princess Tutu.

ShikaTem in the Naruto fandom. Any Road to Ninja pairings as well.

Steve/Tony. I hate it quietly, and mostly because it's one of the great neglectful ships. If a fic has Steve/Tony, there's a 90% chance that Natasha, Thor, and Bruce are all playing volleyball somewhere and then never mentioned again for the course of the story. It gets on my nerves.

Also, the fics tend to follow the "new canon never happened" school of thought, and the stories just continue to be comics characters hanging out in MCU fics. This is also annoying. :/

Sticking with Supernatural. Dean/Sam and Dean/Castiel. You can imagine the fun I have on kink memes :P

I'm a Gabriel/Sam shipper, got to admit. But then, I'm also a Sam/Jess, Gabriel/Lucifer, Gabriel/Dean, Sam/Lucifer, Gabriel/Kali, etc, fan, haha. Mainly because they're my faves, and I ship my faves with almost anyone :D

Sam/Dean, partly because of shippers. I'm just fine with incest seeing as I shipped Prussia/Germany in Hetalia, but I was never too crazy about Sam and Dean being together.
And then USUK and Prussia/S.Italy in Hetalia.

And Harry & Ginny. I honestly dislike Harry with anyone. Just a few that came to mind.

I can't think of any I hate right now, really. So long as everybody's still in-character, it's all good. I've seen some brilliant writers make rather implausible pairings convincing, so I'm hesitant to judge.

Ed/Winry - Ed is a fucked up bag of fucked up, with some fucked up sprinkles on top. Neither of them really know how to communicate with each other, Ed is constantly keeping Winry in the dark for some stupid reason or another, and Winry just keeps throwing wrenches at him. They're not a good couple. And they're why I will never, ever read the manga or watch Brotherhood. (I ship Winry/Sheska.)

Remus/Tonks - I just... If JKR wanted to give us a happy, loving relationship in the midst of all the death and horror, then why was Remus never shown happy? Why was his final happy place back with all his friends and Tonks nowhere to be found? Why does the fandom think it's okay that Tonks got what she wanted at the expense of Remus' well-being? I don't understand. (Mind, while the ship as a concept isn't my cup of tea, it's the execution of it in canon that I truly hate. Nothing about the way it was written was okay.)

Sherlock/John. I pretty much ship it in all other incarnations but this one.

I'm not even really convinced of their friendship. I look at them and think it's nice while it lasts, but in 2,3 years John will move in with a girlfriend, and they'll probably lose contact in a couple of years or so.

I've said this before, but I think hate is too strong a word.

Dean/Castiel: Never felt the connection and then there's the meatsuit thing.

Tony/Steve: In comic!verse it would be exactly the kind of ship I go for. Still don't ship it. Their relationship in the movie!verse is interesting but I don't see that kind of chemistry between them.

Rumpel/Belle: Everything about it, tbh. It's so fucked up but the show can't seem to decide if it believes that or not.

Thorin/Fili, Thorin/Kili, or Thorin/Fili/Kili: Am totally fine with Fili/Kili but the power indifference between the others bothers me. Also, the fact that Thorin must've changed Fili and Kili's diapers (and might possibly be seen as a father figure to them).

Any ship involving a Slytherin for any reason. Just... no. Gahhhhhh it annoys me. They're just all such fucking terrible people and yet most of the shipping at least seems to either ignore that or actively consider it sexy (and yes, that includes Snape for me - although I think he's a great character and I acknowledge the deep moral complexity in his case, he's at best morally grey and it's just not the kind of thing I can get behind)

actually I guess shipping Slughorn would be okay BUT THAT'S IT, PEOPLE, THAT IS WHERE I DRAW THE LINE

Mycroft/Lestrade (of the Sherlock variety) grates on me for reasons I can't fully articulate. I don't think it's even the fact that we've yet to see them on screen together, it's just...something, maybe the way the fandom acts like they're PRACTICALLY CANON despite never having been on screen together, bugs me. Like, I don't ship Johnlock but I'm not bothered by it, but jesus christ I have Mystrade on tumblr black list and get kind of pissed off when people don't tag it.

Harry/Draco and Thor/Loki.

It's part I hate the insistence that the good guy must be shipped with the bad guy, and with the latter it still pushed my incest squick even though they're adopted brothers.

Buffy/Angel

Before you ask I am not a Buffy/Spike shipper and I was never even involved in that debate but I always disliked Buffy and Angel as a couple.

They were too much teen angst and melodrama, and I felt like both characters got so much better after Angel left (ESPECIALLY Angel, he actually got a real personality when he got his own show.)

I have been rewatching Buffy lately and I was just reminded of how much I didn't like them together, season 2 only gets good when he turns evil.

River/Jayne from Firefly. It's the only ship in any of my fandoms I've ever truly hated with a passion - mostly because no matter how much fans of it talk about how she's a weapon and he loves weapons and it's so gloriously dark and twisted, I never get why she would ever want anything to do with a man who's not only far, far below her level intellectually, but actively tried to betray/kill her on several occasions.

(MCU-only) non-AU Loki/anyone other than Thor. I'm not a crazy tin-hatter 'practically canon slash' fan, I can easily see Thor with tons of other people and I don't think Thorki is the only valid ship or anything. I have no problem with Thor shacking up with half the cast. But Loki has SO many fucking issues and so much jealousy and so much other STUFF going on in his life that I feel like he'd have to be written wildly OOC to make any other relationship work at all. (Plus there's the whole 'they're human' thing, which I think Loki wouldn't be willing to see past. I can't imagine him seeing mortals as anything other than vaguely disgusting.)

Like, sexing up Tony or Bruce or Natasha or Darcy or whoever the fuck, it wouldn't even be on the agenda for him. I don't think MCU!Loki would even be interested in sex to manipulate them. He would find it so beneath him and so overly-complicated compared to wiggling his magic fingers that it wouldn't be an option. He's like the ultimate asexual aromantic character.

Now, comics!Loki is a whole 'nother ballgame.

I absolutely DESPISE Shizuo/Izaya. I was never super into it, but I was kind of open to it, but I swear every Shizaya fic is super OOC. Izaya turns into a little wibbly woobie, and it infuriates me. Also, the shippers can be super annoying and bash Namie and Vorona. Also, they're just better at hating each other.

I dislike Drarry, but Dramione infuriates me much more. I'm pretty much not a fan of hateships in general, but I really don't like Draco and all the dumb fanon surrounding him. He's a cowardly little weasel -- not a witty anti-hero.

I feel kind of bad about this, but I really, really don't like Shinji/Kaworu. The shippers I've met are pretty nice for the most part, and it is pretty much canon to a degree, but I never found Kaworu very interesting.

Also: Kyon/Koizumi. That ship just annoys me because it totally goes against my headcanons for the characters. I feel that Koizumi has unrequited romantic feelings for Haruhi, so it doesn't make sense to me that he would hook up with Kyon. Also, it bothers me that shippers think it's canon when it's not.

Canon-wise, I don't like Sokka/Suki because I find Suki so goddamn boring. Pretty much all the female characters in A:TLA were interesting, imo...except her. Also, yeah, I wish Sokka had ended up with Toph. I mean, they're great as just friends, but still.

Roy/Riza from the FMA manga. They have this interesting, complex relationship but once I saw how tragic, co-dependent, and DARK it got between them did I reject any idea of them being together. They need to get a life OUTSIDE each other and their mission so they can actually heal into more functional people. If they stay together, then all they're doing is staying inside that rut.

Though try telling that to shippers. Turns out that they think threatening to shoot your partner when they're on the brink of a psychotic breakdown and then kill yourself afterwards because you refuse to go on alone is romantic, not super fucked up. If they shipped it BECAUSE they liked how dark it was, okay sure, but so many get offended when you point this stuff out.
