Well, I go to college, and I take a math class with a bunch of adults and older people.

So for the fifteen or so minutes before class, I have to hear the following, but not limited to

- A divorcee calling his ex a bunch of horrible names and his daughter stupid
- A narrative on how a lady missed class because she had to take her boyfriend to court from jail apparently (Not sure how that works), and the crimes that got him put into jail.
- And so far, one that delayed the start of class for about ten minutes - a verbal argument between an Alabama fan and...I don't even know, I think LSU, ending with an old lady screaming about how she won't wear purple or gold at all because of deep seated hatred.

Look; You have your careers, you have your jobs, and you're content with life in this small town, but the rest of us are not and would like to learn in the allotted time, get out, and never look back.

All I can say is that sports fans are batshit.

Well, I also have to say that I'm amazed people will volunteer crazy shit about their personal lives in public. At least it makes me feel better about my own meager social skills.

Once, as I was bussing home, a woman was on the phone and started explaining loudly, and in details, how her pap smear went.

All of those conversations just reminded me of the quote from Lewis Black's stand up that said, "If it weren't for my horse I wouldn't have spent those two years in college."

That quote always annoys me so much. :( The person who said it was clearly a member of 4H--they regularly hand out scholarships for livestock and horsemanship and things.

The whole joke is based on Lewis Black being fucking stupid about something, as opposed to some jokes of his which are really quite clever. It...bothers me.

Once I was walking out of the library and I overheard the middle of this conversation coming from a passing couple;

"Oh, yeah. I had a cousin who was like possessed by six demons..."

I spun around on my heel and mouthed the word, "WHAT?" They went inside the building and I came this close to following them back in because I wanted to hear the rest of the conversation. I didn't though. Still regret that I didn't.

God, I regret that you didn't. I'd have loved to hear that story.

It's not that surprising. Some people believe in demons.

Ugh. In my life, I think that the only thing I haven't overheard at this point is someone causing actual premeditated murder. I have heard so much from everyone around me that's later confirmed that it's not even funny. Marriage troubles, family problems, teachers committing suicide, the only way I can cope with it is by trying to forget most of the stuff just as soon as I heard them.

literal example: My mom and I were in the grocery store and a woman walked by talking on her cellphone about someone needing to send in a stool sample.

I tend to have some pretty weird conversations in public when I'm with certain people and god I hope there are people eavesdropping and posting them online because they are great.

But since this seems to be about things you overhear that get on your nerves--I overhear a lot of straight women talking about lesbians a lot. It's funny and enraging at the same time. This one girl in particular was really obsessed with wanting to be a lesbian because she hates men and I always wanted to say "You know it's more about loving women than hating men right like you really have to want that vagina*." but I didn't because I didn't want to out myself to the whole class.

*Not a requirement for being a woman, I know, but it would have shut her up, had I actually done it.

(She was also one of those people who thought she could say whatever she wanted about LGBT people because she knew a gay dude so she was like, totes in with the community.)

Once sat in the uni cafe while some chick watched a vlog about someone discussing sex toys.

I wanted to ask her if she at least had earbuds she could use for that shit but I found a better seat instead.

I guess there was that drunk chick on the bus talking about her abortion really loudly for 20 minutes. That was interesting. I think she almost cried too.

I came across one the night before Valentines day. I'm old, I just want to buy my lube and whipped cream in peace so my hubby and I can have some fun on Thursday. When some young couple that had to be around 18 made a comment about how they felt sorry for me. I guess it's a crime to be a 32 year old woman who prefers lube? Then they started walking with the guy glued to the girl's back because you can't stop the lovey dovey cuddles to buy food like the rest of us for a minute. And I had to hear about how one of them really liked the fuzzy bears they were selling at the supermarket and how they both were fuzzy bears and uuugggh.

That's just mean and stupid.

You should feel sorry for them because they probably just have boring sex that doesn't warrant the use of lube for... comfort. Also, what assholes.

Either way, that's idiotic and insulting and those people need to learn what boundaries and manners are.
