Thank you on both counts! I made it back in 2004 and don't have the heart to retire it, plus, I still love Josephine and Napoleon's love letters so whatever haters to the left. (I used to have mock-ship wars with my friends in AP European History. Yeah, I've always been this nerdy, why do you ask)

I actually tried recreating this kind of icon in MSPaint like I did back in 2004 and found it impossible, too, what the hell

Well, to start, there was the obvious Marie-Louise vs Josephine conflict, which we (as Harry Potter fandomers in the early '00s) played out with a sarcastic parallel to Harry/Ginny and Harry/Hermione, so I got to play a butthurt Harmonian casting aspersions on Marie-Louise's BACKGROUND and HISTORY WITH MEN.

Then we had a brief shipwar with regards to Leon Trotsky and his long history, in WHAT WAS TROTSKY'S OTP? WHO WAS HE DESTINED TO BE WITH? My friend insisted that Frida Kahlo was it for him, where I was convinced his bromance (or more?) with Lenin won out.

We also wrote slash fic about James I.

Eeee! I LOVE IT.

Trotsky/Kahlo, I can ship it. But you're right, her own epic love makes a Lenin-Trosty bromance win out. They probably used to get hammered (har, har) together and braid each other's frankly impressive facial hairs.

James I, I see it. He probably had a huge unrequited crush on Shakespeare (who wouldn't?).

Ha, and Josephine finally had the upper hand, since her daughter Hortense, whom she had with Beauharnais, is the mother of Napoleon III.

Historical shipping, so much material, so little time. Even the whole Medicis/Bourbon family affair on its own would take ages!
