Fair enough. I don't particularly care if people know I'm an atheist, though; it's not something I feel ashamed about.

Admittedly, I probably have missed some of the Spreadsheet!Anon incidents, because this isn't sounding terribly familiar to me. Can I ask for details?

I don't have much details on it myself; I just know that a nonny posted in GC once that they had a spreadsheet where they recorded all the personal details people let slip on their sock accounts here (i.e., country, age, race, gender, etc.) There are still some places in the world where you can get in trouble if you're not associated with the state religion, or associated with a religion that is considered "heretic" (welcome to my world LOL) and F!S seems fairly international...so I thought better to be safe than sorry?

IDK that was my reasoning, does that makes sense?

Yeah, that's fair; theocracy is scary. I might've framed it as, "feel free to go anon for RL safety reasons as needed," but the concern is a valid one.

Then there is my religion, which says we are supposed to be anonymously religious (i.e., live as good examples without verbally bible-banging). IOW proselytizing or shoving my religion down someone else's throat is a bad bad bad thing and not only would it make me a bad person but it would make me a bad Christian too.

So that is also part of why I said anon preferred. That and forestalling Spreadsheet!Anon and others who might look at the usernames here differently in future, depending what religion they admitted to, even if is only a sock account. Which is sad, but also a very real possibility.
