I told a guy that is interested in me that I wasn't a virgin and now I am freaking out because I really like him and want to have sex with him but then I'd have to tell him the truth. I'm not sure how he'd take it as he's a lot older and more experienced than I am and I don't want him to think I'm too young and immature - which I clearly am considering I felt I had to lie about it!

Honestly, I don't think you're ever likely to be "too young" for a guy, unless you're actually underage. Plenty of men think women ten years younger than them are "too old."

I'm guessing you aren't old enough to have been "too old" yet, but wait until you're over thirty-five and men your own age won't even look at you.

Tell him the truth and admit that you initially lied to him because you were scared/intimidated/wanted to impress him/whatever. Owning up to your mistakes is also a mature thing to do, and if he's not an asshole about it, he'll probably understand.

I'm sure he won't mind that you're a virgin. He'll probably go off to his friends who are the same age as him, and brag about how he's gotten a much younger virgin to have sex with him, and consider it some kind of victory.

If you don't want to backpedal on the v/non-v thing, just tell him you aren't a virgin but ARE inexperienced.

While this reflects poorly on society, the truth is that guys tend to get off on the whole virgin thing. At least, lots of them do. They don't see it as inexperienced, they see it as "pure". People are taught to believe that girls lose value the more they have sex.

So while that sucks for women in general, it can maybe bring you some comfort here. If you admit it to him, he probably won't think anything remotely bad. He'll probably be turned on that you want HIM, while you've never been with another guy before.

And anon, I was in the exact same position as you a few years ago, and I didn't tell the guy, and I was so awkward and fumbling because he thought I was experienced, that I regret just not telling him.
