I'm annoyed at myself for sleeping all day. I went to bed at 10:30 last night and still couldn't get up until noon, after which I had two cups of coffee and promptly went back to bed.

I know if I complain about this irl all I'll hear is "Boohoo, I WISH I could sleep all day," but fuck that. Being too exhausted to go about your business is not a goddamn luxury. It's just another lovely benefit of living with chronic pain.

That sucks. I'll freely admit that on weekends I've been known to sleep all day, and I don't have chronic pain, so I really do feel guilty and angry at myself.

Can you set up your bed so that you can comfortably read or use the computer there--or are you one of those people who have to keep things like computer use completely out of the bedroom, or else it messes up your sleep?

Yeah, I think I might do that. I have to put a ton of pillows on my bed in order to sit up comfortably, which has the added benefit of making it really hard to lay back down. Maybe that'll keep me awake.

Although it really gets annoying when you're sitting up against the headboard and suddenly realize that the mattress has begun to slide off the foot of the bed...

I have this fantasy of the perfect bed, in which nothing like that every happens, and it's just as perfect either to curl up and read in, or sleep in, or whatever you want a bed for...alas, it's probably doomed to forever remain a fantasy.

My bed has a footboard so it doesn't slide, but I had that problem a lot in college (when my bed was basically also my couch, even when I lived in apartments and had actual couches). Having to get up and reposition everything always sucked.

I hope you can get comfortable, get enough rest and feel better!
