I am making some monkey bread for my sister and my dough was being such an asshole. :< It was too sticky and wouldn't knead properly and I have made this before so, ┻━┻ ︵ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ︵ ┻━┻

And then I decided to read a 60,000 word fic which had a fucking downer as hell ending. People should have to warn for that. :

My SO is being a very large jerkass to me right now. Would buy ice cream but I have a foot of snow blocking me from the store. :|

Agreed about having to warn for downer endings. Hate going through a deliciously long fic only to find it doesn't have a happy ending that shit is just heartbreaking.

Dominoes gave me the wrong pizza and I had to drive back to change it. I'm so heartbroken - I've trusted them all these years!

And it was completely out of the blue! It was 55,000 words to the main characters hooking up (there were some relationship problems but you now that shit is resolved in fanfic). They were going to get married and had a reception.

And in the last 5,000 or so words, one of them is like, "My ex-wife I mentioned once 30,000 words back called. I am going to go live with her and try and create a relationship with her and my 2 kids I have not seen or mentioned in 13 years. TTYL!"

I got turned down for a promotion.

At almost the last minute the person who was meant to be interviewing me was switched out (they're the senior manager for the department I went for a management position in) because of 'conflict of interest'.

He'd told my friend (does the same role I went for - and the senior manager isn't aware we're mates) I was his go to candidate before the interview, and I just found out from my friend he was talking about how disappointed he was by this, but that the person interviewing me had done a bullshit eval and chosen someone else against his wishes.

Oh and they're fucking me over with leave on tuesday I need to attend an assessment day for project management.

All of which is basically irrelevant since I'm merely waiting on a contract for almost my ideal job, the references have been sent and I won't fail the drug test, five weeks and I'm gone.

But it's still made be considerably more angry then I would've thought about how badly this company has fucked me over. I think next week is going to involve some pointed feedback to a few people and perhaps an ultimatum.

I'm annoyed at myself for sleeping all day. I went to bed at 10:30 last night and still couldn't get up until noon, after which I had two cups of coffee and promptly went back to bed.

I know if I complain about this irl all I'll hear is "Boohoo, I WISH I could sleep all day," but fuck that. Being too exhausted to go about your business is not a goddamn luxury. It's just another lovely benefit of living with chronic pain.

That sucks. I'll freely admit that on weekends I've been known to sleep all day, and I don't have chronic pain, so I really do feel guilty and angry at myself.

Can you set up your bed so that you can comfortably read or use the computer there--or are you one of those people who have to keep things like computer use completely out of the bedroom, or else it messes up your sleep?

With all due respect, if that's a bad day you're lucky.

Luckily I'm lucky too.

My bad day started Friday, when I spent the day doing next to nothing besides answering email in bed and getting travel plans for a conference finalized. I went to sleep around nineish and then went through a series of sleeping for an hour/awake for an hour that culminated in me getting up and making an omlette for dinner at 4am, playing a bit of tf2, and going to sleep around 7:30 am.

Today I kinda was half-awake through Wait Wait Don't Tell Me but didn't really wake up until This American Life came on at 1, at which point I stayed in bed through it listening. Granted this was strategic because bed is warm and I don't want to pay for heat unless I need it. I'm now at starbucks hoping caffeine will work.

I haven't felt quite alive for like three days. I mean my mood is fine, my life overall is fine, but everything's kind of grey and my drive is gone. It's like the symptoms of depression without actual Depressed Feelings to excuse it. And I started this week at a fucking high! Blah.

My entire city is on "boil-notice" as our main water facility lost power yesterday for a bit. Soooo, all water must be boiled for the next day and a half. :(
I'm in the middle of writing a pair of persuasive papers which are due Monday and coffee just seems like too much work on top of that now.

Sorry about your fic's sad ending. That end scenario blows.

Kind of a bad/long stressful week, the end of which had one of my classmates throwing a complete temper tantrum at some of us after class for no adequate reason.

And now I'm having a problem reconciling where I come from with what I've become and where I'm going with my life. And what ultimately people think of people who come from where I come from.

My day's ok really, but I was making hamantaschen last night and the poppy seed dough was being an asshole too. It was too crumbly- probably too much flour. So a bunch of them aren't really the prettiest, but they still taste great. The poppy seed ones are definitely my and my mom's favorite, so we made a double batch. Luckily the second batch behaved much better!

I just kicked the metal frame of my bed getting out of it and then straight after I bent one of my fingernails back. I've suddenly started having a very painful day!

Otherwise... uh, my boss forgot my pay cheque I guess. But that just means I'll get it tomorrow.

::raises hands:: I just want to stay in and hide today. I was running late errands last night/this morning and ended up getting hit while waiting for the light to change; they just DROVE OFF, leaving me shocked and freaking out a little.

Luckily it was an incredibly low impact thing, there was pretty much no damage done to my car, and I was fine, beyond the sheer amount of shock and panic that happened before I got parked and checked things out.

Not in a people mood as a result, though. I'll probably go out and make sure that my car still starts, since it's not exactly a new one and the accident may have been incredibly minor but it can't hurt.

lol, I just find a good shipping AND time travel fic and it ended doing something similar

just when the two characters get together and things go right, it turns out the time travelling character was just dreaming

it was a slash-fic, but in the end the character went back to a female love interest back in the present

it was like the biggest fuck you to fans of the slash pairing

it kinda helps that the author was going based on a prompt, but still...

I guess the day's technically over now, but whatever. Early this morning (after barely any sleep last night, and very little sleep the night before that because I had to work really late) my mom called me freaking out that her printer wasn't working. She had a ton of work she had to get done this weekend and she was panicking, and she just didn't understand because she'd just used it yesterday and it was working fine, and she didn't know what she was gonna do, etc. After trying to troubleshoot with her on the phone for half an hour or so, I finally said I'd go over there and fix it. Went to leave, realized my car was on empty, stopped and got gas, then made the super long drive down to my parents' house, took all of 5 seconds to realize the printer cable was unplugged and plug it back in, then got back in the car and made the long ass drive back home, and crawled back in bed, only to realize that of course by that point I was wide awake and couldn't go back to sleep even though I felt exhausted. So I screwed around online and watched TV for a few hours and then finally went back to sleep, and by the time I woke up it was late afternoon. And now it's 2 am, I'm wide awake and can't imagine being tired anytime soon, which means I most likely won't fall asleep until early morning, and will sleep all day Sunday, and then will be up all night and will get no sleep Sunday night, and I have to get up early for work on Monday.

Gah.
