It felt like the writers put the unattached characters' names into a hat, drew out two at random, and then put those characters together without bothering to have any natural build-up or chemistry. It's like the anon said in the Troy/Britta thread above: I like the characters individually, but I do not understand them together.

THIS. Not to mention I was also annoyed because I shipped Seven/Doctor, which actually had a possibility of being endgame.
