I was confused about how Troy went from "what is this swing" to having sex with Britta in the next ep. Like the whole previous ep seemed to be about Troy not knowing anything about sex and then suddenly he's been having sex with Britta for weeks. Did I miss something?

Having said that, I like Britta and Troy, but more as besties.

I think Troy more didn't know about BDSM and he was offended by the idea that Shirley assumed he didn't know how to please Britta just because he didn't understand certain aspects of non-vanilla sex.

No, you didn't miss anything. I think it's just a product of what way you read between the lines and of how the writers really don't seem sure at this point in the season what stories they want to tell with these characters.

I like Britta and Troy too as besties. I thought the meat of the episode with them was pretty great. But all of their relationshippy stuff has squicked me out in various ways.
