These are all fun in fantasy, like I totally get it OP. I like my internal fantasy land pretty fuckin dark and twisted.
I mean In these you got this charming, or mysterious, or alluring, or even evil but tortured and sad or lonely. They have a lady they are fixated on to save them from their loneliness, so if no one can reach them but YOU then you are even more special. All that tortured sexy brooding. Or maybe you just want someone to bend you over and spank you, or protect you.
It's fun cause it's in your head, you are safe! You can have the most outrageous fantasies in the world in your head or in fiction.
These people aren't fun in real life though OP, no one can save them, they don't think you are special and usually if they do, any time you make a mistake you are knocked from that pedestal preeetty fast.

Try finding someone who you can respect enjoy and trust, and be that person for someone else, then you can play all the games you want in the bedroom, but shut off any fantasy whenever you want!

(Frollo/Esmerelda FTW, by the way, and while I'm a Voldemort/Bellatrix girl through and through, there's so many interesting things that can be done with Tom/Ginny... and I totally thought I was the only one in the world who was interested in Cal/Rose...)

Anyway, just remember: This kind of ship can be LOADS of fun in fiction, but fiction is not real life. If you're looking for love in real life, you need to put aside any expectations about how men should behave that are based on these characters.

But really, just relax, and RL love (and attraction) will come to you in time.

Let's see. From left to right: fuck no, hell no, hell yes, only in Girls Next Door, fuck no, haven't read or watched but judging by fandom osmosis probably no, interesting but no, varies by version, but it's fucked up and also fellow shippers who sanctify Erik, demonize Raoul or infantilize Christine piss me off.

Other than not shipping most of these, though, I definitely agree with the secret--I ship fictional couples with unhealthy dynamics, usually where a powerful and unhinged older guy goes after a beautiful young woman. I'm too old (and ugly) to imagine myself in a virginal heroine's place, though... at this point, the only thing I've got in common with them is virginity.

Every time I imagine being in a relationship with the kind of person I'm attracted to, I realize that I'm better off alone. A real relationship like any of these (with the possible exception of Rumpel/Belle, because at least it's consensual) would end with me on a slab at the morgue. Experienced, passionate men with control issues aren't fixable by "the love of a good woman."

Okay, I don't know if this would be helpful to you or not. But in my subjective experience, fiction doesn't make me want anything I wouldn't otherwise want. It just gives me a safe place to become aware of what's bubbling quietly in my subconscious. And sometimes, it gives me advance warning. I can see that what Tom was doing to Ginny wasn't loving because I got a broader view of him than she did. I know that the part of me that wanted her to be okay held it against him that he would exploit and discard her, and that sort of thing ... has informed my judgment about who to date and who to steer clear of. In the end, you have to live with what happens to you.

Assuming you're not fantasizing about being the manipulator in these ships. :) If you are, tread carefully? The best doms are people that it's not actually a mistake to trust. And outside of fiction, you attract a partner you can respect by being someone they can respect. There's nothing wrong with edge play. But there's something very wrong with being irresponsible about it.
