I've been to bathrooms in movie theaters. They're modern and get cleaned -- and women's restrooms are famously not as grody as men's rooms. Also, it was a movie. Mom was probably watching it, not carrying on a conversation that just took a 30 minute pause for personal play time.

In my experience, in those that I've had to clean and in the few I've had to visit when the men's rooms were closed, women's restrooms are ASTOUNDINGLY filthier on average. It was a slap to the face of my expectations.

What kind of theaters have you been to o_O The ones around here, especially the ones that take the big-ticket movies, generally have pretty clean bathrooms. Not to mention, I doubt OP was actually rubbing their bits on any part of the actual bathroom, and you'd have to take your pants down to pee anyway (assuming female-bodied, anyway), so I'm not really seeing the "unhygenic" aspect here.

And yeah. Movie like that? If Mom was into it, she probably didn't even notice her kid was gone for half an hour. Maybe peripherally recognized that it was a long bathroom break, but probably nothing more.

This would have been my reaction. Time flows differently when you're watching a movie (unless it's a really boring movie, but I personally loved Avatar, so many pretty pictures!! lol)
