Regarding the secret format ... Uh. The pulsing is an optical illusion, right? The secret itself isn't gently vibrating?

Mostly agree. It's particularly annoying when the one person being genderswapped is the character the fandom identifies with, often seen in the popular M/M pairing. I always feel it reads as pointless self-insert or really weird gender stereotype roles seeing how it's almost always the 'bottom' or more submissive in the relationship that gets turned into a girl.

I like genderswap fic/art...but mostly only if all characters involved are genderswapped. I'm not sure why, and in case of shippy stuff it doesn't matter whether genderswapping only one party makes the pairing straight or gay, but if not everyone is genderswapped, I have a harder time enjoying it.

Eye-bleedingly awful colour choice aside (is it symbolism? the text on a different background would be fine, and the beckground with different text would be fine, but if you only change one and not both, it's horrible like the secret?) I completely agree, anon.

Not sure why, either, but changing one character to make a slash or femmeslash couple straight, and one character to make a straight couple slash or femmeslash, really bugs me for some reason.

I'm the opposite. I love genderswap best if it's only one character and that character is the center of the fic. When it gets to be everyone genderswapped, it just has less impact and is less interesting.

Did anyone else think this is a subtle reference to Sterek due to that stupid fanon theme "Orange and blue is a great color combination!/this no fit!" crap? Or do I just spend too much time on tumblr?

Same, I can't do genderswap if it's not everyone being genderswapped- at least partially because I suspect that the author/artist is doing it so they can ship something as gay/straight when it would be the other way, and both are irritating for their own reasons.

The one exception to me would be if someone genderswapped Grunt from Mass Effect 2. I maintain that the character and his arc would have been way better if he was a she.
