I LIKE HAY DAY. YES FARMING.

Anyway, Infinity Blade isn't bad, they have Civilization, I really enjoyed playing The Room, they have Myst and Riven, I like Pandemic, Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition, Mass Effect Inflitrator, The Bard's Tale, Sid Meier's Pirates!, Aralon: Sword and Shadows, Bastion, The Walking Dead, and could you play half of this on the computer why yes you could.

But I like 'em.

Oh, but definitely keep BG on the computer. I didn't get the EE, but it's really not worth it on the iPad. It's just a good game.

I recommend Aquaria and Little Infernos.

Sword & Sworcery! (Although it's on PC too...)

(Anonymous) 2013-03-02 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
What game is this?

On that note, any game suggestions for people who aren't interested in fighting or racing games? (Fun puzzle type games or RPGs or simulations that aren't those play for five minutes and wait type would be awesome. Puzzlecraft I found to be fun.)

I really like Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes. It's a puzzle-strategy hybrid that I've found really fun.

Sims Medieval is a fun mindless game. I like the medieval aspects to it and the in-game quests.

Bastion is also good. It's a RPG with a soothing-badass voice that narrates everything you do in game. I haven't found it too difficult to play.

Cause of Death. Amazing game, if the playthroughs through Volume 1 are any indication.

I found LostWinds 2 to be really fun. It's an RPG - bit of fighting, lots of puzzles to get from one area to the next. I've not played the first game, but I hear it's pretty much as good as the sequel I played (just, shorter, and lacking a map which was added in the sequel). Graphics are amazing, the music works so well, the story's fun, it's just all around my favourite iphone game at the moment. Only drawback is, it's not as long as I wish it was!

Machinarium. Now you have two reasons to shell out $300. (and are they really that cheap now?! I wish I'd waited :/)

(Anonymous) 2013-03-02 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Except Machinarium runs on pretty much every other platform.

"Cheap"?

OMFG Apple WTF.

I swear, since the 1990s Apple has been purposely positoning themselves as the closed-source hipster antithesis of Microsoft just so they can pick people's pockets and make them love it.

i've seen some interesting-looking games on jayisgames.com, rockpapershotgun.com, etc. sites like those

Ah, anon, the term you're looking for to describe this feeling is killer app.

Hmm. The art of this game looks very similar to a DS game I read about in Nintendo Power once *very vague and unhelpful* I think it was Get a Taste of Miami Law?

Not surprised. In fact, a similarly-themed Choose Your Own Adventure type game called "Surviving High School" came out for iPad/Pod/Touch and for the Nintendo DS. There's a playthrough of that on YouTube as well.

Is that the game? I've never heard of some of these things before.

I admit I've considered buying an iPad just to download three games by a niche Japanese developer. Games that I already have on console, with the only difference being new playable characters in the iOS versions.

I haven't done that yet, but should I ever have enough disposable to make a $300 impulse buy I just know my weak-willed nerd heart is going to lead me to a stupid purchase. :c

So uh, I kinda get where you're coming from.

(Anonymous) 2013-03-03 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
Ask me about the PS3, Wii and Nintendo DS that I bought, each for a single game...

You could always buy a used one on eBay/Craigslist, then sell it when you're done with the game... although if it were me, I'd probably get attached and want to keep it >_>

(Anonymous) 2013-03-03 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
OMG THIS GAME. ngl, I got pretty decently hooked on it for a little while - had started shipping them an everything... though I think I was just projecting all my Castle/Beckett onto. If it's something, you can play it on an iPod touch? Slightly less expensive. But yeah, it was pretty fun.

Maltara Forever

(Anonymous) 2013-03-03 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
Don't worry about it. Playing the game is not that different an experience from watching it except that you might screw up enough to not get the bonus scene and then have to play it through again. I do that about 50% of the time because getting to 80 points can be hard when some decisions are fairly arbitrary. Plus only the current week's episode is free. When I started I dumped maybe $40 into the older episodes, and that was when they were cheaper. So just keep watching it online.

Every time you engage in platform wank, the spirit of Ada Lovelace kills a chinchilla.

Won't someone think of the chinchillas?
