Fix a crappy finale!
(Anonymous) 2013-03-02 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)Oh, and ginainthekingsroad, you may link to a previous comment of yours fixing the DS9 finale if you've already done this ;)
Re: Fix a crappy finale!
(Anonymous) 2013-03-02 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)So basically I'd have them never win the lottery, Dan never cheats, and the canon stays in tact in the final episode.

Re: Fix a crappy finale!
How the heck could anyone leave it at that and just never make another season? Henry leaving, Victoria heartbroken and the threat of Asteroth still looming over their heads?
No. Just no.
To this day I'm still hoping that another
wildseason will come out of nowhere and wrap things up properly. *sigh*Re: Fix a crappy finale!
Get them back home in the 'present' earlier in the episode, and give us proper pay off for how that goes down.
The L Word
I don't know if that actually can be fixed. But at the very least reveal who killed Jenny.

Oh, and that Rose doesn't remember their kiss. I would cause her to have some memory of that. But I think it was intentional ship-teasing, so...
Re: Fix a crappy finale!
What in the actual fuck was the end of that show.
Re: Fix a crappy finale!
(Anonymous) 2013-03-03 01:04 am (UTC)(link)To it's credit it's probably one of the most memorable series finales from my childhood, I just don't know if it's memorable for the good reasons.

Re: Fix a crappy finale!
(Anonymous) 2013-03-03 04:42 am (UTC)(link)*genuinely curious*
I mean, I'd want to have the Doctor and Donna have a big win in the finale and become happy and fix each other's issues with the power of bffness.
But then there'd be the question of "but then why would Donna ever leave ever" And "but then Eleven would be too normal and boring and angstless when Ten regenerated"
Maybe she would die in an awesome heroic sacrifice or something and drive Ten insane with grief? Because that's what RTD foreshadowed all season and then totally chickened out on because he's a manipulative coward who refuses to challenge the audience's expectations. IDK. It seemed like he wrote himself into a corner with that arc.
Re: Fix a crappy finale!
1: Dump the dead weight of the family reunion plot to focus on Donna.
2: Keeping Rose in the wings for two whole seasons was not the best idea.
3: The whole gothic return of The Master was an episode of badly-paced gibberish. The pacing and beats just don't work. Either explore it or just have him pop out of a portal or a basement laboratory.
4: The conclusion of that two-parter was dead-weight montage. In fact, it's a perfect encapsulation of everything that went wrong with the series and why we needed a new Doctor. It became more important to cram fanservice into the cracks than to work with the wonderful chemistry of the current companion (in this case Wilfred). If you MUST have a closure montage, put it in Wilfred's hands to say that The Doctor has moved on.
