The real problem with Nickleback isn't so much that any one song is unrelentingly awful, so much as they all sound like pretty much the exact same mediocre song over and over again.

This. Nickelback is wave after wave of unrelenting mediocrity. To achieve that kind of onslaught of "not that great" takes not only lack of talent, but lack of anything standout that sucks enough to be interesting
