Arthur/Eames. I've never understood how it got so popular, considering that they barely have a personality.

Two words: Blank. Slates.

(and two more: Hot. Actors.)

Archetypes. Eames is a gambler, expert forger (in dreams and reality), British, creative, like to plan but will disregard the plan and improvise when necessary, and most likely ex-military due to his actions in the movie. He's very competent even if most of the fandom will have you believe he's stupid or not as smart as Arthur (yeah, no, Eames actually plans the whole op if you actually watch the movie and pay attention).

Arthur is a control freak, smart, expert point man, likes to plan but will not easily improvise (see control freak), and most likely ex-military due to his actions. He's competent as all hell, too.

He does make mistakes in the movie, but whether that's his fault is undetermined. I can think of ways myself to prevent the information he doesn't learn from getting out (they don't know Fisher's head is militarized--maybe F hired someone trustworthy and paid a great deal of money to keep it quiet, maybe they killed the trainer after, etc.) I think his mistakes come in trusting Cobb as much as he does and going on w/him w/the Mal situation.

My opinion on their looks? Little to do w/why I slash them. JGL is cute/handsome enough, but doens't ring my bell much. Eames' actor, Tom Hardy, is only attractive to me as Eames; outside of the role, I think he's ugly as hell and even as Eames, also doesn't ring my bell much either.

I do love me some competent, ex-military, etc. (see above) men. That's sexy as all get out to me. I despise Cobb for a variety of reasons. I would love Saito to be in more fic, esp. in slash (his actor is hot as hell as is his part/demeanor in Inception--I wish I could write him, but I'm not much of a writer) but not as we get him. Joining them on further adventures? Eh, can't see it. Bankrolling them? Maybe? Keeping an eye on them? Yes; so he'll have forewarning if they ever come for him; they are dangerous.
