Re: Characters you like *because* of their flaws

Shinn from Gundam Seed Destiny. He's an obnoxious little fuck who needs to be slapped once an episode, but what the hell else do you expect him to be? It was nice to see a war-scarred kid given immense power and become an easily-manipulated monster instead of a messiah. His relationship with Gilbert was an awesome deconstruction of the Harry/Dumbledore mentor relationship.

Also Jason Todd in Under the Red Hood. Holy shit that guy is a massive seething ball of issues and trauma, but he's still a very complex and fascinating character to watch. The greatest thing is that all his issues have a legitimate source that reach all the way back into his childhood, so his anger is very justifiable. You can still argue if it's wrong or not, but it's justifiable. And my absolute favorite part was he had a point. Sure, he might be unhinged enough to want to give the Joker a thousand screaming deaths, but the world would be better off without him ...
