Rule #1 - cardio!

Damn, this app gets mentioned so much it feels like a big advertising campaign. Honestly, is it that good? I might get it now that we're coming on to spring.

It really is. It is so much fun. Even if you're not even running and just using it as an audiobook, it's still entertaining. (Though you should probably run.

I've been enjoying it. Usually, I just listen to music on runs. This is way more entertaining. It's my music AND a story.

Also, this spring (sometime next month), they're releasing Season 2!

I didn't know they were doing another one. That's awesome!! Love this app!

Hell yes. It's so good that it motivated me to run in 20 degree weather to get the next story. And also after a big snow storm even when the sidwalks weren't plowed.

It's a fantastic app. I really recommend it.

I've been wondering the same thing.

Been pondering repurposing my fiance's old iPhone just so I can get this app.

I know, seeing all the secrets about it makes me wish I had a mobile device that I could use apps on. All I have is my tablet, which is way too big to go running with.

I may or may not have bought this app because of a secret I saw on here.

Now it just needs to be warm enough for me to use it...

How does one learn to wake up early to jog/run? TELL ME YOUR SECRETS, ANON. I can usually only manage to exercise either in the early evening or mid morning :/

Basically, you gotta force yourself to do it until it becomes a habit.

Adding on to this-- setting up a schedule that you feel is something you can accomplish is also a big part of it, and being able to stick to it.

Running everyday is a good way for you to feel overwhelmed, if you're not a person who enjoys running, or is particularly good at running. Just tarting out, it's important to approach it in a way where you feel like you're making progress, but that the idea of future runs doesn't seem impossible.

At one point I was running 3 miles every day. No exceptions, no rest days, all that. It was stupid in retrospect, and sapped me physically and mentally, and was sort of demoralizing. I was exhausted, I felt like I could never get better times, and that it was pointless.

Don't do that. You have to keep running, but you don't have to push yourself until you feel like you're going to die.

I really like their 5k training app because of this. They make pace myself and I don't feel guilty for resting a day between runs because they tell me to do it.

Well, what did it for me was having a concrete purpose and goal in mind. Without this, I'm a sporadic runner at best; so since other things depend on how well I can run, it motivates me to get out there and do it better. So when my alarm went off at 6:40 in the morning, and it was raining out, by God I still went running. Because nothing is stopping me from doing better than me.

A second alternative, and also what partly helped me, is finding something that involves you more than on a physical sense. The app in my secret involves you on more than a physical level, and also your physical performance directly progresses the story. This works different than just music alone, because it has the same sense of discovery as a book, but depends on you getting the story moving by moving yourself.

eh, whatever crazy shit gets you through this ridiculous era.

Hey, I understand how you feel! After watching walking dead, I even figured that I should make an "in case of zombie apocolypse" backpack. I find myself thinking about it all the time- "Hey, I should put that in the backpack". . .
