I think part of it stems from the archaic (but surviving) 'man planting his seed' thing that surrounds pregnancy in general. Cis-women have no seed to plant, as it were. I think the other part is that cis-women are biologically the child-bearers so there's generally a lot more mindfuckery involved in a cis-man coming to terms with bearing a child. While there are a lot of deliciously angsty places one could go with a cis-woman who accidentally gets pregnant and absolutely in no way ever wanted to have a child (one could even go so far as to having her have a pregnancy phobia), I think the whole 'I should not be biologically capable of doing this!' angst from mpreg is what pushes a lot of people's buttons.

Of course the 'verses where they're like 'yea (cis-)men have babies here all the time. That's just the natural thing!' hold very little interest for me for that exact reason. (i.e no mindfuckery)
