Alternately, is there a height at which you would consider a man to tall to date?

Yes and No.

Chemistry beats all. If I find chemistry with someone then it's not really going to matter much to me about height. I do tend to be drawn to men of my equal height or thereabouts, but height is not something that would disqualify someone from the possibility pool.

The ideal height would be exactly as tall/short as me, but it's not that important. A head shorter would get into weird territory, though, since then he'd be shorter than some ten-year-olds. Over a head taller would start to annoy me.

Probably? It's never come up, though--I'm 5'4". As for too tall, 6'5" seems a little too much for me, but how many people are even that tall?

I've never honestly had to consider height as a quality in partners before.

I am weirdly attracted to shortish guys. 5 foot 7 seems to be my ideal; that's my husband's height. I'm 5 foot 8 in bare feet and I love wearing sky-high heels, so when we go out I look like a giant amazon compared to him. no1curr tho <3

I am under 5 feet tall so it would be hard to find a man shorter than me... but on the same page, I am SO USED to everyone being taller than me that I would feel weird dating someone shorter. That said, while I find really tall guys super attractive in theory, in reality I wouldn't want to date anyone taller than me by 9 or 10 inches because it's awkward.
And also I can see their nosehair.

Seriously, no. I'm only 5'1 so it's going to be really awkward. I dated a guy who was 5'4 once and I could not find him attractive at all. I would say 6'2< is a bit too tall though.

I think it really depends. I'm 5'-2" but my one ex was 6'-2". So I guess no taller than him?

I'm way more about personality than anything else.

I'm 5'11" (181 cm for the metric folks) so refusing to date men shorter than me would limit my options rather considerably. And honestly I'm more attracted to men my own height, or slightly taller or shorter. I once dated a guy who was 6'4" and is was nothing but awkwardness and neck pain.

Shortest I've dated was 5'8" but I'd go shorter. Tallest was the aforementioned 6'4" and I'd never do that again unless the guy was amazing.

Yes. I'm 5'2 anyway, so it's not like I see a lot of men shorter than me. But if I did, I wouldn't care, same if he were so much taller than me.

Yes.

There are other physical things that would keep me from dating a guy, though - I can't see dating someone bald, obese, or really big in general. So it's not that I'm not shallow at all, height just isn't something I care about.

Sure. I'm a man myself, though. (And I'm shorter than average, so there aren't all that many guys shorter than me, but w/e.)

Hmm I have no idea. I've interacted with short men that I feel I had a connection with, but all my SOs have been taller than me.

I dated a guy shorter than me in undergrad and most of my boyfriends in high school and undergrad were (while taller than me by a few inches) not incredibly tall for guys. My husband is about 6'2''. I've never really paid attention to the height part.

I couldn't care less about height. My last boyfriend was a few inches shorter than me. I'm kind of surprised reading this thread and seeing that there are people who pay attention to that. Makes me wonder if there are guys out there who wouldn't like me because I'm tall. o_0

I usually don't even notice height when it comes to how attractive I find someone.

Seeing as I'm 5', I'd be very lacking in 'shorter than me' options. And if they were it'd be pretty weird.

Tallest I've dated was like 6'5". That looked weird.

Are there dating websites where you can opt not to see certain characteristics in other people's profiles, like height or income because people are probably lying about those things anyway?

Anyway, I've never dated a shorter guy, but I totally would because it's very low on my list of important qualities.

I don't really pay attention to height that much, and it's not a serious factor of attraction for me. So I wouldn't see height as an impediment unless the difference was so drastic that it made sex difficult or something.

That said, I find short guys attractive, and I wish there were more guys shorter than me. But I'm about 5'4, so I don't find too many.

I'm 5'1", so lots of men are taller than I am by default. Too tall would be anyone past 6'1".

I'm 5'8" and my husband is 5'5". It isn't really an issue but there are times I wish he were a little taller so we don't draw as much attention when I wear heels.
