AYRT, no longer anon

I really like Kyle, but I'm glad they did John instead. I doubt they'll show him, given the amount of time Giancarlo Volpe has spent griping on Twitter about the marketing department not wanting characters of color, but it was good to hear him sneak it in.

My baseless speculation on the ending is that Aya gets fully turned into Ion, regrets her actions, and uses the time thingy to erase herself and the Guardians' mistakes. Then we get an open ending hinting that memories and other stuff are coming back. Because I think OP is right: if she really has killed millions of people like Razer said, she's gone too far now for a normal redemption. And introducing a device like that is very much a Chekov's Gun: it's going to go off, and it can't go off in the evil way. And they did set up the "love is doing what's best for you lover" thing a bunch of times, so Razer having Ilana alive would be that particular gun going off regarding Aya's decision....

Oh, that would be a great resolution, if Aya really is irredeemable in and of herself. It would definitely show her in a much better light in death, and provide Razer with some peace. It would be kind of a cock-up in terms of time-and-space rules (fixing the Guardian's mistakes might lead to the Green Lantern Corps never being established because hey, the Guardians never sealed off their powers because they never made a mistake as big as the Manhunters), but after the whole "stars millions of light years of way can be seen immediately going dark" thing, I've realizing science-picking is unwise with this show.

Yeah, I don't know how it would work. Baseless speculation. Maybe she will mess around with the universe and the finale will be about setting it straight. Maybe Razer and Aya will sacrifice themselves to close some kind of time rift she's already opened, and their love will live forever and ever throughout the timestream or something. Maybe they'll just have to kill her. Maybe the solution will be wiping her memory.

Oh, man, science-picking this universe is really fun, though! I once tried to calculate the ridiculous amount of matter that would have to be in the Maelstrom if it really encircled the entire Forgotten Zone, and the answer I came up with (based on estimated flight speeds) was "more matter than is in the entire observable universe" if I remember correctly. Not to mention that, if a Sector is months long from end to end, then even moderate distances should take weeks to fly, and a full loop of a patrol would take years!

But I do love the idea of Guardian Space. Ruling the entire universe like in the comics has always seemed pretty silly from a modern perspective, and putting vague limits on it makes perfect sense to me.
