I'm confused. I think I missed it where Chromedome altered REWIND's memories. That's a rather huge thing for me to miss. Perhaps I was just being too horrified by the Prowl thing.

I would be afraid to see the way this fandom would write Cyclonus/Tailgate, to be honest. They have a tendency towards batshit crazy fics (The Rodimus/Ultra Magnus/Drift one where they use him as their personal whore, for example). I keep considering trying my hand at it myself (my poor TF fic account on AO3 currently sits with one lonely, and not necessarily any good, fic) and then deciding I couldn't do it justice. I want to see where Roberts takes it at least a while longer.

I do feel your pain, sort of. I ship Skids/Rung with all my heart, for reasons I'm not entirely sure of. Well, ok, I know. Skids saving Rung's ass, and then being the one to bring him back from coma-land. However, that's not a good basis for a ship. There is no IDW fic for Rung or Skids, period.

We don't know that he did. We know Chromedome did something bad, that Rewind would likely object to, but unless the OP is privy to spoilers, that's just speculation about the nature of the offence. Prowl's comment on it suggests it happened before he met Rewind.

Well, yes. I assumed that was alluding to Chromedome altering memories for other people. Or maybe he's actually responsible for the disappearing Dominus* It struck me more as an action taken by Chromedome that the 'bot that keeps him honest would not approve over more than an action taken against Rewind himself.

But, as you said, we don't know. Pretty sure shit will hit the fan if Rewind finds out about Prowl, though, too...

* I'm more inclined to believe, knowing Roberts and that name, that Dominus is ultimately going to turn out to be a decepticon sympathizer or non-factioned psychopath, though.

Remember Chromedome telling Skids that the marks from having his memories accessed only shows up under ultraviolet light?

And then remember when Rewind was dying from being stuck in a room with a bomb and Chromedome said he was allergic to ultraviolet light?

This suggests to me that Rewind already found out whatever it was that Chromedome did, and Chromedome erased it. Why else wouldn't he want Rewind exposed to UV light, if not to hide the scars from the mnemosurgery?

Hey, I had the same thought - that I couldn't possibly do the material justice, particularly after looking at a few of the awesome fics that are out there.

And, uh, then I looked at the OTHER fics that are out there and honestly, I figure I can't do any WORSE, so I might as well just have some fun with it and I haven't written like this in months. It's wonderful. (Might never get posted, but I'm having fun all the same.)

tl;dr - I'll keep an eye on AO3 for any Skids/Rung you'd care to share.

You must be hanging out on some very odd part of fandom, as the ones you can't find anything for are...some of the biggest pairings out there. I see WAY more Cyclonus/Tailgate than I do Chromedome/Rewind! (Although Roddy tends to get shipped with Magnus. Generally, fandom doesn't like Drift much, but it's still a ship that's totally out there.)

See, this is the hilarious thing about TF fandom. It's got these niches and each has its own feel and personality. Parts of fandom I hang out in love Drift.

But they still don't write Rodimus/Drift. Which, unlike the OP, I am thankful for (there's some fragged up power dynamic between those two, imo). But to each their own ship and I do my best not to harsh on anyone's.

I don't know about fic because I don't read much of it in this fandom, but I see a TON of Cyclonus/Tailgate fanart. Just as much as Chromedome/Rewind if not more. And there are alot of people that claim to sail under that ships flag, no way I would call Cyclonus/Tailgate a rarepair.

Rodimus/Drift is a bit harder to find but its definitely out there fanart wise. This paring I would actually like to see some fic of though if only because the messed up power dynamics (that I love!) probably won't be explored as fully in-story. :/

Anyway, half these guys could be dead soon haha.

Well, we have a possible idea of what's going to happen with Drift via covers (shan't tell you in case you don't look ahead at them)

And...don't say that. I want to punch Chromedome really, really, really hard and may have screamed a little bit at the reveal, but I really don't want any of these idiots to die. I don't want them to take Skids, either. ^^;

I've seen the art!! Which is awesome. But I'd love to see fic, particularly exploring power dynamics re: Rodimus and Drift. Cyclonus and Tailgate are also some kind of fucked up, actually. Also would be fun to explore, and yet.

Or just start with More Than Meets the Eye. It did a nice job of scaffolding me and I hadn't actually read all that much of the comics. It's just a damn good story.

Although a somewhat distressing one atm.

I know of one fic that has Rodimus and Drift, but it's movieverse, and it's a threesome with Optimus... and mech-preg (as in, Optimus is pregnant with a sparkling due to one or both of them (it may even be twins - it's been a while since it updated so I don't recall).

Maybe the problem is that the fandom seems to dislike Drift.

And there's also tons of fanwork for Drift....... undeserved, imo, but there is plenty.

Maybe its because i hate Rodimus so much and so i am by laws of nature forced to encounter him a lot, but I've seen a fair amount of Roddy/Drift, and it's pretty much all been IDW

I mean, sometimes Percy is involved as well, but yeah, i'm actually surprised to see how many people have trouble finding this pairing (I guess the Drift/Perceptor part of fandom is just so overwhelming)

Drift/Perceptor is a much more fun sort of distressing than Rodimus/Drift. But I may be biased because I feel like Rodimus is an idiot who WILL get his crew killed; it's just a matter of time. Perceptor just breaks my heart. I loved the scientist, and his rebuilding himself was epic, but it also HURTS. As Ratchet said a while ago: "I'd do anything to have Perceptor - the old Perceptor - back. The last thing this war needs is another idiot with a gun."

Plus that whole thing where his job was to keep a guy drugged so nobody would notice he was crazy. That's a hell of a kind of pressure.

I think Perceptor and Drift's very different types of damage compliment each other fairly well, though. So I do sort of ship them.
