InuYasha spoilerrrrr Kikyo's death in InuYasha The Final Act

Not because "yes! I hate that character!" but because of the overwhelming feels I got from it. I cried so hard, I was actually really upset. So in a way, it's also my most hated lol

I love that scene too.

I was actually surprisingly touched by Kagura's death as well. I loved the evolution of her character into someone more sympathetic.

Jo and Ellen on Supernatural. It was so sad.

Ten from Doctor Who. IDC if you say he "regenerated", that was death. :(

I don't know if it counts as "death" (well, who knows), but Ep 25 of season 1 of Ghost in the Shell SAC. Tachikoma self-sacrifice! Batou screaming at Motoko! FEELINGS!

...It's also my favorite episode of my favorite show, so uh.

OMG, I just watched Ghost in the Shell SAC for the first time this past year, and I lost it when the Tachikomas died. That really, really upset me for days. Great, great TV but wow. Right in the gut. *sniffle*

Gotta be "Commissions & Fees." Mad Men may have finally topped its own "lawnmower scene" for gallows humor when Lane Pryce goes to asphyxiate himself in a Jaguar, and the damn thing will not start. Which was foreshadowed so beautifully about the Jaguar account throughout the whole season. It's a brilliantly written episode, and Jared Harris really earned his Emmy nomination for the episode. I only wish Lane could have been in more episodes that season; but of course he was splitting time in LA with Mad Men and in Vancouver with Fringe (where his character David Robert Jones died for the second time; STOP KILLING JARED HARRIS, WRITERS! D:).


Stringer Bell's death in "Mission Accomplished" should also get a mention.

"Favourite" death episode woulb be when Angemon fought against Devimon and sacrificed himself.

If you only talk about death scenes it would be Wizardmon's death. (Digimon meant a lot to me as kid, okay?)


The death scene that scarred me for life is the father's death in The Lion King. I literally cannot watch The Lion King because of that scene. I actually had to leave the room the one time my friends insisted on watching the movie, because I just cannot bring myself to watch it.

Maes Hughes. That episode...gah, I was not prepared for the sadness of that episode. (I remember the first anime best, with Roy crying at his grave and Elicia...well, you know. ;_;)

Sam Winchester's (first) death was horrible(ly awesome) and will always be super emotional for me.

Arthur Pendragon's was heartbreaking too, especially since it felt like (no matter what the dragon said) he hadn't done everything he was 'meant' to do.

Arthur's hits particularity close as it happened so recently. Arthur asking Merlin to hold him broke me.

Gwaine's death was also heartbreaking as well.

M*A*S*H -- Abyssinia, Henry. The original airdate was March 18, 1975 and I watched it then. I still cry every single time.

The West Wing -- 18th and Potomac, followed by Two Cathedrals. Mrs Landingham. Ow. :(

ER -- Be Still My Heart, All in the Family. The stabbing death of Lucy Knight and Carter's eyes as he watches her bleed out. There's a first season episode, Love's Labor Lost, that I just can't watch again. Some deaths hit harder than others.

Lucciola, from Last Exile in Castling Lucciola. It was just about the most tragic part of the series. Also Alex Row, in Resign, They were both pretty fucking awesome on the way out though.

Every death episode from Madoka Magica. Every single one. Especially episode 10 with Mami's meltdown and Madoka's assisted suicide.

SG1 - Heroes from Season 7. If you've watched the show, you know the one.

Also Sybil from Downton Abbey gets an honorable mention because that was probably the best scene from all of season 3.

The episode where Janet died? I physically startled, gasped, and burst into tears. In retrospect I'm a little meh about aspects of the eps but I seriously didn't see that coming and I'm not sure why. I think that was the only fictional death that shocked me like that. It was probably an accident of chance but my initial reaction has stuck with me.

Nuriko. Nuriko's the only one of the seishi deaths that really gets me (Because my two other favorites survive), and it gets me EVERY time. ;___;

Buffy in The Gift. I think it was the perfect perfect ending.

Boardwalk Empire/Grey's Anatomy spoilers (old ones, tho)

Being the resident Boardwalk stan, I've gotta say Jimmy's death in the S2 finale--just the fact that he knew that it was coming and basically went willingly after spending time with his son and his BFF Richard (MY BB), and the way he gently talked Nucky (his father figure) through it...I was already freaking out, but by the time we got to the WWI flashback I was sobbing, bc I have extremely strong war feels and I just...augh.

Angela's death was also really bad because it was just SO unnecessary and she was pleading that she has a child and everything. GAHHHH SHOW. WHY. And I didn't love Owen, but Margaret freaking out and sobbing over him killed me because she is my girl. <3

And of course Denny's death on Grey's, because I love JDM always and he and Izzie were amazing together. And Lexie's death was pretty sad even though I hated her, because Mark was crying and telling her he loved her and everything. Mark's death made me sad because I LOVE Callie and his friendship with her was amazing, not to mention Derek. Even what's-his-name intern in the shooting finale, Charles, got to me because Bailey was crying and all. Jesus Christ, it really is Seattle Grace Mercy Death.
