I blurred out some of the cities where I track the weather because I have them named as the friends and family who live there.

They're individual scripts that I run through GeekTool.

I see bowtie but what is everything else? And what bowtie theme do you use?

I use the smplcty [right] by RTech bowtie theme. I found it on DA along with a bunch of other really cool ones.

The menu bar items from left to right: nocturne (makes the menu bar black), Living Earth Desktop (weather app that also lets you view a real time representation of the earth either in its drop down menu or on your desktop or as a screensaver), Alfred (I use it mainly as a launch app but it's become a really cool tool kit along the lines of GeekTool), bowtie, Splashtop (allows me to access my computer from mobile devices), caffeine (overrides sleep settings for up to an hour), a proxy app, the WiFi status, the bluetooth status, time, battery condition, and the built in Search app.

What is on the right side of your dock? I recognize the standard OSX stuff but what is ORG and KAFF? And where di you get your icons?

I got my icons on DA and used the psd he included to make most of them for myself.

ORG is short for Organize. I use it as a dump file for anything I save/download and then sort things when it gets too cluttered for my liking. I have some personal stuff in the right now and can't share a screencap.

KAFF is short for Kaffeine, my primary media folder. I had to spell i that way because my launch app couldn't differentiate between the application caffeine and the folder Caffeine for the longest time.
The icons from here come either from paulodelvalle on DA or I made them myself using his template.



I also use custom icons if there is more than one season of a show or it's a movie franchise.



The Music folder is actually my guitar lessons folder; I was just too lazy to make a "GUITAR" icon for it. I've been using these black folders for so long that I can't find where I got them.

I have it set to rotate between cities across the globe. I haven't been able to get it to show weather conditions anywhere in Antarctica, though.

You may just have the nicest Mac screen I have ever seen. It's plain, but it is clean and reminds me of walking down alleys and streets during walks home on foggy nights :O

There is so much weather! The weather is everywhere! I didn't know you could weather on an Apple.

Thanks! I rotate between a few similar, plain backgrounds.

There are many different ways to do the weather, including have it display a little picture of the weather conditions along with the temp and description. I use GeekTool to run the scripts and there are scripts posted here that tell you how to do it. It can be a little overwhelming if you've never worked with them before, but worth the effort. You're welcome to always ask me if you want some basic help. I'm far from an expert user, though.

I got into it when I used to participate in background competitions and now it's just habit to use it. Plus, that creator has a few really cool themes ;)

To change the dock, you replace the existing image files with the ones you want to use. You can make your own or find them on DA and on various Mac forums.

I use Img2icns (it's free) for the TV/Movie folder icons and Candybar (not free but has a free trial period) to change all other icons, including changing the default folder icons to the black folder icons.
