Health Q: Should I be worried?

The other day I helped out with some major home renovation, and I did something that caused the pinky finger and the knuckle down to my wrist to go numb on my left hand.

It didn't seem too bad that day, and yesterday(it's been 3 days since it happened) I didn't feel any numbness, but now the numbness is kind of spreading up to my elbow?

I don't have insurance, nor a job so I can't really afford going to a clinic to get it checked, but uh I just wanted to ask... if anyone knows anything about numbness, maybe nerve damage? Could it just be a pinched nerve?

Probably just a twinged nerve. Definitely take it easy for a while (so, no more renovating), and if it's still giving you trouble with no sign of improvement after a week or two, you might want to see if there's a doctor that will be flexible with you or if there's any sort of assistance program you qualify for and get it looked at.

Check out Ulnar Nerve Entrapment, and see if that sounds similar (http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=a00069). It's not a big scary thing, and there are some examples of things you can do to help aside from the doctor.
