you know, it's hella creepy to stalk someone down even 'defensively' and then on top of that, you're sharing your work. 'LOOK THERE ARE PICTURES IN THIS PHOTOBUCKET!' 'OMG THEY HAVE THE SAME TUMBLR NAME!' ...if you are that concerned, use what you noticed to message them discreetly. This just reads as concern trolling.

Lol, really? The username is in the FUCKING LINK. All I did was look at their photobucket pics. Which are PUBLIC. Then, because I don't have any information at all about this person or how to contact them (can you even send messages on photobucket? idk) I posted a comment pointing out that maybe the link should be removed or something, since it has RL pictures which can now be connected to FS and a secret.

I'd hardly call it stalking. Besides, I'm not even the one who brought up Tumblr.

Okay, seriously, I don't get it: how the HELL do people copypaste an URL with their username right in the URL and submit it to a secrets comm? How? Just...how? Do you not look at the URL at all when you copypaste it? Does it not even catch your eye as you go to click 'post comment'? Do you somehow think no one's gonna see it? Do you not realize people are gonna see it? Just...just what exactly is going through your mind, guys? I don't understand...

I use a photobucket account for FS but not my min one. Its a photobucket account used mainly for FS and has a name like FSpics or Boogers, or Buttons or Daphatkeedpharted.

RPing as an obligation is no fun, and if your friend has gone off whatever it was you used to RP together and is no longer inspired by it then it's time to put it to rest. With any hobby losing interest is a risk, but RPing is so fuelled by what's currently sparking your imagination that forcing it defeats the point.

I don't know your situation, but my unsolicited advice is this: If you and your friend have a friendship outside of RPing, then see if you can find another mutual interest - a new fandom, a different RP setting, or a non-fannish topic you can bond over. If RPing was your main friendship thing though and there isn't anything else, then maybe it's time to cut ties and move on to finding other people to RP with you.

Yeah, I was coming here to say exactly this. There's an unfortunate trend in RP circles that the person/people you RP with at that time are suddenly your very best friends for the rest of your life (which I understand can feel like that when it's just starting out--I equate it to the "honeymoon" phase of a romantic relationship), but new fandoms happen, and if there's little other basis for the friendship than the RP, well...I feel like this is where most of the personal grudgewank crops up.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's perfectly okay to just have acquaintances that you enjoy the company of and RP with, and if a genuine friendship does come up out of that (meaning having plenty more in common than the RP/fandom), great--but it's not necessary.

Because all you ever talk about is fandom and rp and they aren't even all that interested in the fandom anymore. Which is why you're discussing a real friendship on fandomsecrets for some reason.

They have an irl life going on. If all you talk about is fandom... you're going to get dropped when the other person gets a bit more mature.

Also of course you are the third wheel when they are with their boyfriend

You know I had a friend once and we were so close until she became a fan of SPN. Then she began to drift further away from me, started becoming an asshole, ended our friendship and sometimes makes fun of me about me killing myself. So yeah I guess I understand.
