Happy Easter, people who celebrate it. Doing anything in particular?

We are going to be having steaks and baked potatoes. Nom nom nom. And I made some rolls and burnt the hell out of my finger. Now am trying to make some of those bunny bread rolls.

Eating the Easter candy I got on sale yesterday. Going to buy more when it's marked down tomorrow.

Also I found four plastic eggs with quarters inside and a chocolate carrot walking the dog in a park where an egg hunt had been in the morning. I always find stuff that other people miss.

We dyed Easter eggs and then had my Grandma hide them for us to find! And by "we" I mean me (24 years old), my mom, and my mom's partner. C'mon, it's fun no matter what age you are.

And...nope, not really. It's been a long time since my family 'properly' celebrated Easter, but the cheap candy is always delightful.

Today is all about Walking Dead and Vikings. Annnnnd I'll probably get back to Lego LOTR in a bit.

I woke up early to put together my daughter's Easter basket, hide eggs and bake cinnamon rolls. When my husband took her to the park to play I took a nap.

Came back from helping out at the barn with a Japanese family wanting to do a riding lesson.
I'm hoping to celebrate Easter by getting cheap chocolate tomorrow.

For Easter this year I got one of those teeny maltesers bunnies and half a handful of mini eggs. Being a grown up sucks.

Luckily, I already spent £30 on a luxury egg for myself and am still working my way through it :)

Not on purpose -- he loves super-spicey stuff, and I had no idea he's allergic to one kind of seasoning. (He was ok a few hours later.)

Eating chocolate just like everyone else. I also worked, which is a convenient excuse for not going to church and all that with family... and avoiding a family lunch. /horrible person. I'll still see them tonight though.

Guhhhh. GUUUHHHHHH.

I decided to make myself a new top for Easter. Kimono style, with toned-down simplified obi, and I'd found this purple fabric with a not-too-cutesy rabbit print to make it with. I also decided to make homemade chocolate bunnies for the big family Easter dinner on the other side of the state - dark chocolate with dried cranberries, and white chocolate with pecans.

But my health's been acting up for the last month, and this week particularly sucked to the point I couldn't sit up to sew and was too nauseated to deal with food. So basically YESTERDAY I bashed out the top, in between rounds of MAKING MY OWN CANDY MOLDS and melting chocolate to pour into them and then waiting 45 minutes for them to cool and then discovering we had no pecans and sending my girlfriend to the store to get some and her coming back with walnuts instead because "They only had pecans chopped into little pieces" - which is EXACTLY WHAT I SAID I WANTED.

So uh. Yesterday was so stressful I couldn't sleep much last night, and my health suffered, and I drove across the state to deliver the bunnies I'd rushed out, then sat in the car hyperventilating and in pain for about an hour before I gave up and drove back home. ;_;

But the church service this morning was beautiful and exciting, everyone apparently loved my homemade chocolate bunnies (first they were saying they were too cute to eat, then apparently they were too delicious NOT to), the weather was gorgeous for the drive, and although it was raining a little as I got home, the sun came out again while it was still raining - meaning I had to check for a rainbow, and yep, there was a rainbow off to the east. Very nice.

It won't be Easter for me until May, but I'll doubtless drag my lazy ass to church for Thursday, Friday and Saturday services, then eat lamb with roasted potatoes and crack eggs with my relatives.
