We've already gotten Sassy and Cas/Bobby soulfisting. Obviously Dean needs to hop aboard the canon soulfisting train, too.

First episode with Castiel in a few months. He was under mind-control and beating Dean up, but overcame it when Dean whispered "I need you". Then there was face touching.
No way was that not fanservice, and no way was this secret not prompted by the subsequent reaction in the fandom.
