Oh, for Pete's sakes. If this is about Dean and Castiel your friend should realize that Dean and Castiel will never, ever happen. NOT because America wouldn't want that. Because, frankly, the show is on CW. It's not a popular show on a little watched network. (And I like the show but, really, the majority of the US population does not know about this show.) The reason why Dean and Castiel will never happen is because it goes against how the show works and has been working for eight and half seasons. Romantic relationships DO NOT WORK on this show. They WILL ALWAYS go down in fiery flames moments they are ignited. Castiel and Dean WOULD NOT live in domestic bliss no matter how much as a fan you beg, whine and call the writers homophobic.

I've never understood so called "fans" who want to change everything about the show they claim to love in order to get the storyline they want.

Shippers who are so obsessed that they believe their ship is canon when it is obviously not always worry me. That level of delusion and denial just make me feel very unsettled.

I guess that sounds rude and mean but they kind of frighten me. I'm not even really sure why.

Assuming this is about Dean/Cas, because duh.

My biggest issue with this is that the writers (and producers and lighting guys and dude who makes the coffee) are all on Twitter now, and they egg these poor people on.

They make comments about upcoming episodes containing shit that is going to make the Destiel fans SO happy, they retweet Destiel stuff, it makes it look like they're all fervent supporters too and there's a really good chance it's going to be canon any day now, which makes these young tumblr Destiel fans get their hopes up.

I don't blame them for getting over invested, because they're being mislead. It's fucked up. The next level of queerbaiting, I guess.

effect the fandom mindset?

Personally, I've seen a lot of negativity come out of this blog. It's not even about showing the delusional people that they are off base, it's more about bullying them and mocking them. Which in no circumstance makes anyone(whether they are healthily minded about something or not) react without aggression.
I think that blog is getting better at getting crazy people going, then making people stop. It's convincing so many of them that they are being persecuted because the way this person hunts out their posts and puts them on blast over everything. I almost put the blog runner on the same level of sanity when in regards to Sterek. Just because they have an opposite negative view doesn't make it any better.
