Honestly no. If a writer says the next episode is going to be exciting, they assume its because of destiel. If they say the next ep is heartbreaking, they assume its because of destiel. If the set producer says check the background for clues they only see hints for bisexual Dean.

They view the show as merely a backdrop for the love story for Dean and Cas. Everything and everyone, in their eyes, is meant to be a parallel or a clue about their ship. And its not necessarily the wrong interpretation, but the fits they throw when they don't get their way is more than alarming.

The ones causing the most damage are probably all the adult meta writers assuring all their young followers that its going to be canon.

All of this. Also, when the writers/actors/whatever say that an episode is going to be exciting for fans, they generally mean that there are going to be scenes that they think the fans will enjoy. I follow almost everyone involved with the show save the directors and writers on twitter, and they generally say the show is going to be exciting, but not specifically for Destiel fans. And honestly, even if they did say they think Destiel fans will enjoy an upcoming episode, why in the world would people automatically assume that means they're going to be kissing/touching/fucking/professing their undying love?

There was wank in the TW fandom along these lines when Jeff Davis said that Sterek fans were going to like an episode in Season 2 and some of the more overzealous fans started freaking out and assuming that it meant Derek and Stiles would kiss, when all he meant was that they had a lot of screen time and some good scenes together. And then some people were seriously pissed off because omg, he ~lied to them~. I know Jeff Davis has a problem with putting his foot in his mouth, but this was one of the instances where it was not the case and the fans read way, way too much into things and then wanted to cry about injustice and queerbaiting afterwards.
