Okay, that's firmly in the "cute or sad?" category ...

Cute. They are together and happy. And even both of age? What's sad about that?

Spike was always going to outlive her, if you mean the overall age difference. Dragons live a lot longer then ponies.

There's a fic I read once called "The Centerpiece of My Collection" in which Rarity, rather than succumb to old age, chooses to be petrified, becoming the most beautiful and valuable statue in Spike's horde. There was a bit of a debate in the comments over whether it was WAFF or grimdark--they settled on "grimlight".

Yeah, I meant the age difference thing. Massive lifespan differences always make me sad.

I am too busy being A: Overjoyed you have adopted a pony gif for an icon, thus further cementing your brony status and B. Loving "Bronyseph" to possibly be brought down by your denial of the truth.

As I recall, Otakugal insists she has nothing against people who watch MLP, she just hates people who call themselves bronies, because the word has been irreparably tainted. Which any member of Skinheads Against Prejudice will tell you is silly, but whatever.

But back to the Rarity/Spike shit: I don't give a flying rats ass if he ages differently. HE'S. A BABY. DRAGON. IN THE FUCKING SHOW. He may act the same age as The Cutie Mark Crusaders, but he is still a BABY. Rarity is a freakin' adult pony, she's coded as the oldest of the lot.

That is goddamn shouta/kiddie porn if they are shipped together. It's the god damn equivalent of pairing a 2 year old boy with a 30 year old business woman.

Fucking. Disgusting. And I hate everyone of the RariSpike shippers for thinking it's cute and will happen. ESPECIALLY the "endgame" shippers. Because they are fucking delusional. Not to mention the underlying tones of "Rarity is a bitch for not putting out for "Us" I mean Spike!!"

For what it's worth, I agree that this fandom has serious issues in how it writes Spike, especially when it gives him a romance with somepony older than himself. (At this point, the only time I read a fic that has Spike in it and a "romance" tag is if he's paired with one of the CMCs.)

Still, I think the semantics here are essentially pointless. If you hate boorish fans, say that you hate boorish fans, don't expect people to know that "bronies" means boorish fans and not just fans.

That's one of the reasons I don't ship them. Their only "chemistry" is that Spike is into her and it's pretty obvious that she doesn't take his advances seriously.

No wonder Spike is the mascot of all of fandom's Nice Guys(tm)

Yup.

I actually sent a note to the mods of a Homestuck comm asking if they would tag stuff they reblogged and they were really nice about it, so asking on specific blogs you want to follow may or may not work. Also opens you up to the possibility of a flaming, but it may be worth a try.
