I get writing smut during your period, though I don't have that restriction. But why does your period make you feel totally unsexy? Have you discovered tampons? I never felt like that again once I gave up pads.

The bloating and the mood swings and the "CAKE SUGAR ALL OF THE CANDY" cravings and the uncontrollable urge to cry at the slightest things and the practically bipolar "I LOVE EVERYTHING DIE MOTHERFUCKER I HATE YOU ALL AW LOOK HOW ADORABLE THIS PUPPY IS" attitudes and then cramps and the...

Maybe your entire body doesn't get as wrecked by hormones like mine does, my time of the month tends to be the psychotic kind. Being psychotic is pretty unsexy.

Oh I see o.O I'm very very sorry you go through all that. I get a little bloating, cramps once in a while and a few emotional moments but your period sounds like a nightmare. I hope you find a doctor who doesn't think going though that is normal and get those days back.

ugh sometimes it's the same for me. worst time for anything tbh.

Even without the horrible mood swings and everything else, my period just makes me feel run down and cruddy all over. I always feel like I'm on the back end of a cold every time it starts and I end up sleeping for 12 hours and staying up for another 20 and generally just being whiny and unhappy about every goddamn thing.

Periods suck. Why haven't we found an over-the-counter way to stop this >:|

Like a cold sounds about right. Including feeling like I need to sleep for 2 days, but can't because I'm all feverish and everything hurts.

We do. Sorta.

Both Seasonale and Seasonique are meant to reduce the number of periods to four a year. Depo-provera completely stops menstruation in over half the women using it at one year, and the rate goes up to nearly 70% after two years of usage. A hormone IUD can also lead to a reduced or stopped period. In addition, the regular every day pill can also be used to skip periods (by skipping the placebo week and immediately continuing on a new strip).

Of course, all these methods have their own pro and cons and it is hard to know what will work for you. But if you are interested, it is something you can bring up to your doctor.

uuugh seconded. Also back aches and taking painkillers constantly. And I just want to lie down all the time sweat a lot more, so even with excessive showering I don't think I look or smell particularly sexy either.

Thirded, with a nice big side of gastrointestinal issues.

Yeah, that happens to me too, especially the first and second days. I find that taking immodium as soon as I notice I'm bleeding, and 2-3 doses spaced appropriately after that, helps.
