I got into the thread late (sorry!), and I wanted to say, I had one a year ago this last Dec. 7th, so if you ever have any specific questions, please feel free to PM me! As for the ones you asked....

I had a G cup. Unfortunately, the doctor was only able to remove enough non-essential tissue to get me to a C cup. You can go in to your potential surgeon, and ask them ranges, but I'm guessing you're probably not going to go much lower then a low C. Take it. It'll be so worth it! Any smaller, and they'll be removing things they really shouldn't be. Unfortunately, boobs aren't literally just bags of fat, or it would be so much nicer!

I love it! I got all I could taken out (around 9lb all together), and it is lovely. Though, I ended up with floppy boobs; perky ones would take an extra surgery. The healing was 110% great- here's the thing, follow your doctor's instructions to the letter, or get someone to help you. I had blood draining out, and I had to take the measurements as the healing process went on, of how much blood I was losing; it can be gross, so if you don't like blood, see if you have someone you trust who can help you.

Also, you might have to sleep in a recliner for a little bit.

I didn't have much scarring, but it as there. Nor did I end up with any uncomfortableness, however I did have a loss of sensation, and because of the way they had to do mine (they had to remove my nipples+those brown things around them idk what they're called and graft them back on), I can never breastfed. I'm not too broken up about it, but I honestly can't remember if you've mentioned a preference one way or the other about that, so it might be something to keep in mind. (They can do it another way, called the "keyhole" method, but they can't get you as small with that.) But, yeah, no sensation. I think? At least, I can't feel any pleasure, but I never tried to see about that before hand, so I'm not sure if that's a *me* thing, or a *surgery* thing, ya know?

But, yeah, PM me if you ever have any questions, and I'll do my best to answer them! I might be real vague about the first few days, though... I was on drugs. >_>;

Edit: And another thing! You may end up with some fluid settling under your arms. That will require anterior surgery (for me, anyway), and while it doesn't really get in the way (IMO), it can be frustrating, if you like to wear moderately tight~tight shirts. Or you might get lucky, and that doesn't happen, IDK.

I was under the impression I could go that small if I was willing to lose the ability to breastfeed. While I'm not 100% that's a decision I should be making right now I do kind of feel that considering I don't have any back or sleep problems settling for less (or more in this case) than I want isn't really worth the cost and healing time right now.

Honestly this thread is making me think I need to see another doctor. The one I visited was really fixated on convincing me being able to breastfeed was non-negotiable for a woman my age and to get my breasts lightly touched up and not reduced in any way.

Thank you so much for your response and congrats on your new boobs! :)

mmmm not really, sorry. :/ I did lose the ability to breast feed, but they took all that they could out of there, and I'm still a C. Mostly it's because they remove all of the fat(ty tissue? I don't completely remember) but they leave the other things, otherwise it would be a far more complex procedure, and they'd have to do a lot more internal stitching and what not. At least, that's what my physician said. Admittedly, I've dumbed it down a little, because it has been a year, so I don't remember exactly what he said, but. Yeah. ^^;

Though, if you go as small as removing all the non-essentials, you'll probably have to get the grafted on areola (sp?) and nipple, so you will lose it either way.

You do. That doctor was out of line, especially if you told him (or her) you had back pain.

I'd also urge you to go to your regular doctor (or a new one, if those two doctor's are one and the same), and talking about your back pain, making a log of it, and keeping track in a notebook or something. Log all the times you've had back pain & how it effects your life, all the time you've had to have something done to your back to make you feel better (massages or medication, or whatever), and keep your doctor informed of this. Also, log when you have to take pain medication for your back.

If you do that, your doctor should be able to refer you to a surgeon (if you have insurance? Do you have health insurance?) and if they refuse to, get another doctor/surgeon, and the official surgeon should be willing to help you out, as they should have more knowledge of the problems a large chest can cause.

Also, if you keep a log, you should be able to get your insurance (if you have some) to pay for it super easily. I know my surgeon looked at my G's, and called the insurance agency up right away, and basically said "you need to pay for this, it's for health, not elective reasons", and then they were willing to pay for it. I did have to tell them about what I did to make the back pain go away, though, hence the log.

I hope that made sense, and I hope you find a better doctor!

Thank you! :)
