Those two examples are comics. What makes them hilarious is not the artwork, per se, but the writing. Fanart submitted to a bigbang is completely different and not at all comparable to either Hyperbole or xkcd, you're trying to compare apples and oranges.

yeah because their work is solely based on the quality of their drawings.

If someone did the same as the humor in Hyperbole or the reflection of xkcd and applied it to fic that'd be pretty creative. Their 'art' is not based solely on the visuals, and they most likely know that the crudeness/simplicity of their drawings served a purpose.
