they're some of the most highly rated games in recent history so it's natural for people to insist, as it is natural for people to enjoy them. you're definitely missing out, but that's not your friends' problem. i'd drop it if i were them, but i don't blame them at all, honestly. it's weird that you're not even willing to try them out.

I loathe FPS games. LOATHE. They don't really add anything to the experience for me. I never finished playing through Borderlands 2, though I like the design, because FPS are so. Fucking. Boring.

I don't like FPS either. I might not think they're boring, but I can't play them well. I've tried a few, and I suck. ... Driving games too. My ex and I used to play video games (rarely FPS because he knew I sucked), and the first time he saw me playing some racing game he laughed for a good ten minutes and told all his friends.

RPGs all the way, baby. And the occasional RTS.
