People don't read books, obviously.

I know so many people that "love Harry Potter," write HP fanfiction, and haven't read the books. At all.

I have never read the Harry Potter books and I never will. Fantasy novels bore me to tears. But I love the movies (though I am not in the fandom). I am sure I am missing thousands of little facts and such, but I don't really care.

Yeah, but that's different from people who say they're in fandom when they haven't read the books. To me, that doesn't really count. Fandom = being a fan, or at least having been one at some point. Except not so much these days, it seems.

but HP fandom? You can tell the movie fans by how AWFUL the spelling is. Grifindorr? Macgonigal? Hermyony? COME ON, IT'S NOT HARD TO RESEARCH THIS SHIT.
