I love her to pieces, but that so-called 'sympathetic' back-story they gave her was the biggest piece of shit cliche they could have chosen. Character's mom gets stuck in a coma because she (the mom) was driving somewhere for that character, then the character spends the next x amount of time reading to her in the hospital? BARF! Embarrassing.

Yeah, they're just recycling cliche plots at this point. Sad, bc up until that episode she was one of my favorite characters on tv. :\

Ugh, God. I actually don't like her and the sob story didn't help any in that regard.

That bothered me, too. (Also, it made me feel like a bad person for being pragmatic, because all I could think was 'Could it hurt to let her hang on for a few weeks until the miracle-healing angel is back on the team?')

And honestly, I have no harsh feelings about Felicia Day, but I don't think she's a terribly strong actress, at least not enough to breathe life into such a cliche plot.
