I love Charlie! I don't understand the hate at all and was surprised when I saw it (But then again, I say that about a lot of characters, but still).

I love her to pieces, but that so-called 'sympathetic' back-story they gave her was the biggest piece of shit cliche they could have chosen. Character's mom gets stuck in a coma because she (the mom) was driving somewhere for that character, then the character spends the next x amount of time reading to her in the hospital? BARF! Embarrassing.

There is absolutely nothing negative about Charlie. Who doesn't like her? She is pure awesome.

Charlie is adorable. She brings out the relaxed, protective brother and adorable fanboy kid side in Dean at the same time. And the kid side is so rare. I think the last time we've seen it was when Dean got the rainbow slinkie and before then when he was in Heaven lighting fireworks with the kid version of Sam. Like I said, it's way too rare. Which is sad because that's my favorite side of him.

Ahhhh I remember seeing a post on tumblr where someone wrote this 'analysis' and how that one character from Homestuck was a better character than Charlie because Charlie was made to be mocking the show's fans and the post just made me so mad.
After her first episode, I grew to love her.

I didn't like her because she rendered the Winchesters obsolete. Supporting characters aren't supposed to overshadow the main characters. Her character could have been toned down more and been more awesome than having her shoved down our throats.

I don't like her because her character (and Garth's) has always felt like they were conceived out of a "Shit, we need some new recurring characters fans will like since we killed all the rest off!" discussion in the writers room and they're both so... constructed to be likable and perfect to the show's audience it grates on me? She's also been snuggled into the Winchester Inner Circle whiplash-quickly it feels like.

I think it's great that there's a recurring LGBTQ+ character who has their own agency, isn't played for jokes and all, but it's every else that drives me nuts :x

I loved Charlie! Kinda sad to think of people hating on her. Though the last episode was definitely my least favorite of the three.

I never hated her, but I did think she was kinda Mary-Sueish for her first couple of episodes, and I didn't get the whole Felicia Day thing, so I didn't understand why she was so popular.

That being said, she really grew on me last week, and I hope she sticks around. I like her interactions with Dean, I and I LOVE that she's a lesbian character with normal 'people' problems, instead of 'gay' problems. They didn't even mention her sexual orientation once last week. I hope the show can keep that up.

(Fandom has also somehow convinced me that I need to see her and Cas interacting, idek.)

I don't think she's a representation of fans. I think she's a representation of what the majority of fans WISH they could be. (Because seriously, sitting on tumblr 23 hours a day making half-speed gifs of "Destiel staring SO LONGINGLY AT EACH OTHER OMG IT'S OTP CANON" is not the same as being a brilliant hacker and charismatic geek.)

That said, I understand why people feel her character development was a little rushed, but I don't think it was bad. She has the first episode, where at the end, she decides she doesn't want anything to do with their lifestyle. She has the second one (the LARP one, yeah?), where she freaks out at first and realizes she's going to have to run AGAIN, and by the end of it, figures out that running isn't going to make anything go away, so she might as well suck it up and fight back. And in the interim between that episode and this last one, she's educated herself as best she can. Like any brave, intelligent person would do. As for Sam and Dean embracing her, well. I think they can tell she's not exactly a threat, and at this point I think they're happy for any support they can get, especially with Bobby dead, Sam in the gutter, etc. Plus Dean's always had that big brother desire to take care of people, and since he can't do anything for Sam right now (and he's trying, albeit struggling, to realize that Sam is an adult)

The thing with her mom, I can understand why some people don't like that either. But I dunno, I can imagine myself doing the same. My mom is a geek like me, and if she were in a coma I think she would want me to read to her too. And they made it sound like Charlie's visits were pretty rare? Since she said she visits "when she can".

I do agree that Felicia is playing a character like herself, but then, everything I've seen her in is that type of show anyway. My guess is that the writers are aware fans look up to her, so they figure she can represent the "geeks" in a positive light. I'd have to see her in a radically different environment to gauge her acting.

...I have a lot of feelings about this, apparently. Sorry. orz

Um, I thought she was supposed to be a commentary on the Mary Sue self-insert aspect of the fandom the way Becky is on the gushing fangirl. Not true meta, but sort of. That's how I've been interpreting her episodes and it's really the only way I don't find them, and her, utterly ridiculous. If it isn't, and she's supposed to be a serious character, then holy crap has the writing for this show gone to hell. Holy crap.

I haven't watched SPN since season 5 (not for any elitist reasons, just lost interest) but Felicia Day... I have a problem. On one hand, I really am in love with Felicia. She's amazing, adorable, creative, and is a gamer girl. I love The Guild and The Flog, and watching her interviews, etc. I follow her on Facebook, too.

But... I don't think her acting is that good. Or, for that matter, her writing - the script of The Guild and Dragon Age:Felicia Day was just kinda meh. Cute, but nothing really clever or particularly natural for that matter. Her acting is always the same character, which is herself, but with more awkward fidgeting and line delivery.

I don't know what to think about her. I like her so much, but I think she's not very talented at the same time.
