Um, I thought she was supposed to be a commentary on the Mary Sue self-insert aspect of the fandom the way Becky is on the gushing fangirl. Not true meta, but sort of. That's how I've been interpreting her episodes and it's really the only way I don't find them, and her, utterly ridiculous. If it isn't, and she's supposed to be a serious character, then holy crap has the writing for this show gone to hell. Holy crap.

I.. never read her character that way, and I can't recall anyone else doing so, so there's that I guess? Given that the rest of the season is filled with plot holes and other poor writing choices, because shockingly bringing in new writers who can't be bothered to check the damn WIKI or something for continuity was a bad idea, I'm gonna go with that too. :/

Ohhhh new writers... That makes sense now. As a "new" fan who only started watching (religiously) at the end of season six I wasn't too confused until I finally got netflix recently and started watching from season one.

I have so many questions about inconsistencies and changes (though I'm pretty sure some will be answered in the episodes I haven't watched yet)

Yeah that would do it. S1-3 weren't perfect, but they were pretty good, and look even better in comparison to s6+

I should point out that not the entire writing team is new, there's a few good ones there but the fact that there's a few who dismiss continuity mistakes as "before their time" really shows :/

I am not a Charlie fan. I find her to be yet another example of how badly SPN writers write female characters. This reading of her character actually makes me like her more.
