I've always thought it would be interesting to have a show that changes each season or has a highly rotating cast. Either because characters are killed off, or it focuses on incoming Freshman or newbies, or whatever. Just keep it fresh and changing. On the other hand, I sometimes suck at adapting to change and get stuck on certain characters so that might not work.
